Facebook acquires Instagram

"Mercury Seven" announced
1959USA's Project Mercury was the first human spaceflight program of the United States. This day marked the announcement of the first seven astronauts. As the Mercury project acquired notoriety, millions of people worldwide listened to and watched its missions on radio and television. Its accomplishment established the foundation for Project Gemini, which launched a few weeks after the first crewed Mercury trip and transported two astronauts while perfecting the space docking techniques necessary for crewed lunar landings.
