Martin Luther King Assassination
1968Martin Luther King Jr., a civil rights leader was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee. The African American clergyman most famous for his "I have a Dream" speech was fatally shot while standing on the balcony of a motel. In the following days, the aftermath of his loss resulted in riots and unrest, which eventually led to the creation of a National Day of Mourning and Remembrance.

Microsoft is founded
1975Microsoft was established as a partnership between Bill Gates and Allen Paul to initially create and market BASIC interpreters for the Altair 8800. Its most famous softwares at the moment are Windows and Microsoft 360.

Apollo 6 launched
1968Launched by NASA's Apollo pogram, Apollo 6 was the third and final uncrewed mission flight in the program.
