The first gorilla born in captivity was named Colo, and she was born on December 22, 1956, at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in Ohio, United States. Colo was a western lowland gorilla and her birth was a significant milestone in efforts to breed and conserve gorillas in captivity. She became a symbol of conservation efforts and lived a long life, passing away at the age of 60 in 2017.
The United States Golf Association (USGA) was formed on December 22, 1894. It was founded in New York City by a group of amateur golfers with the mission of promoting and governing the sport of golf in the United States. The USGA is responsible for organizing various prestigious golf championships, setting the rules of golf, and overseeing course ratings and handicapping systems, among other responsibilities.
