From Mobile Phones to Networking: Nokia's Evolution in the Tech Industry
Too Long; Didn't Read
Nokia has been around for over 150 years, and in those years, it changed its logo about five times.
Nokia's ascent to fame can be attributed to its decision to concentrate on mobile phones in the early 1990s. But the Finnish company's fortunes began to decline with the emergence of Apple's iPhone and the Google Android operating system. Until it finally lost its place as the king of the mobile industry.
Today, Nokia is revamping its brand. Speaking of the change, the incumbent CEO, Pekka Lundmark said,
“In most people’s minds, we are still a successful mobile phone brand, but this is not what Nokia is about. We want to launch a new brand that is focusing very much on the networks and industrial digitalization, which is a completely different thing from the legacy mobile phones.”
