Mark Your Calendars! Time-Lapsing MMORPG 'Cradles' Begins Closed Beta in March

Cradles: Origin of Species, the upcoming MMORPG on blockchain featuring combinable component NFTs and time-lapsing virtual worlds, has announced 15 March 2023 as the launch of its Closed Beta phase.

This follows from a successful pre-alpha testing phase in October 2022, where hundreds of early bird gamers locked horns with bloodthirsty velociraptors and battled giant T-Rex bosses in a prehistoric universe.

Lasting for two weeks until 30 March 2023, the closed beta will look for gamers to play the role of an adventurer, exploring and battling against the backdrop of lush, expansive worlds of deserts, plains and volcanic islands. They will come into contact with lost civilisations, grappling with heightened chaos and disturbances in their realm.

Players are invited to join the adventure – harvest your own materials, improve your heroes, and battle for supremacy… or help unravel the mysteries that threaten the world of Cradles: Origin of Species.

How to apply for Closed Beta

Running up to the launch date, we will be giving out participation slots on our Discord channel from March 1st to 10th during the March Mania event.

Gamers from the existing community and others will be eager to fill out the slots to get a first-hand look at one of the most ambitious MMORPGs to have ever been built. We’re talking vast worlds to explore, open-world quests and story-based missions, unique cities and inhabitants, a vast array of items to forge, with raw materials freely harvestable across the game, and a myriad of dinosaur-themed monsters standing in your way.

In the last pre-alpha stage, we closed off the event with a massive PvP Battle Royale, giving out hundreds of dollars in cash prizes to the winners. We’re planning something similar here to reward our most active Beta testers!

A game worth playing

Cradles will push the limits of blockchain technology. Beyond the mere use of in-game currencies, Cradles features customisable component NFTs that mean players can harvest raw materials, combine and disassemble, and create unlimited combinations of items, equipment, and weapons that they can trade. This concept was already proven in 2022 with the Dragontar Club, the world’s first combinable component NFT project and a showpiece of the growing Cradles community and its desire for ownership.
