Video games have a tendency to prioritise guns and violence in order to make a profit. The Tomb Raider series has always been at odds with this trend. The most recent entry into the series scored lower than both Tomb Raider reboot and its sequel, Rise of the Tomb Raider. Combat encounters are limited and much of the game is spent with Lara surveying the scenery, plotting her route across treacherous mountains, swimming through dark caverns and solving a plethora of ancient puzzles. It’s more in touch with the origins of the series than any past games.
