We sought to discover powers to become gods. We sought to evolve into immortals…and then it finally happened… I cry for everything that I have done. I yearn for my mother’s embrace. At the same time, I feel guilty for what I did to millions of mothers. Here’s the worst part. I am stuck with the people whom I hated…who I looked at like parasites. In other words, I am stuck with others like me. We were the top 5% of the world’s wealthiest. Back when the earth started spitting fire, and the sky sought vengeance for all the wrongs we committed, we sought a way off the planet. If only greed wasn’t our forte, we would have survived…probably killed each other while fighting for control over the small elitist colony we had built. But greed corrupts…and it leaves a mark. Who knew prophets were real people? Who knew God was real? We sure didn’t believe in that nonsense. So imagine our surprise when one of our paid scientists discovered the strange golden holes, a cosmic phenomenon like a black hole. We spent more money on that research. Threats were made, people were killed, and banks were extorted to fund that. And when we found that the golden holes were a way to gain godhood, just as they were how prophets communicated to God, and they were how Annunaki had reached out to humans to teach more technological marvels, we too sought to become gods…and so we did. My memory fails me. All I remember is that we had managed to travel at the high frequency our researchers found in the codes of the Egyptian pyramids. We build such sophisticated spaceships, possibly killing entire food chains with our nuclear fuels. And then…we traveled to the golden hole a million light years away. All I remember is a blinding light, and superhuman gifts…or curses I should say. We could hear each others’ thoughts, knew each others’ motives and the worst part? We couldn’t kill each other, nor can we kill ourselves. We are not human anymore, and we are forever trapped in the golden realm, unable to move beyond this bubble of light. We can understand the marvels that went through Einstein, and we still cannot use any of that genius to escape. Every day, I am forced to live the lives of all those people whom I wronged…and with me, the others live it too. We feel their pain, and we cry for them…and there are millions…we feel the pain of even those ants we stepped on. You can imagine…what our life is like now.

Sometimes life is stranger than fiction…but not these stories. These stories are literally fiction.
