Successful comic book adaptations have been a thing since forever, but we can all agree that it’s only been in the last 15 years or so that comic book movies have really become a juggernaut at the box office. And the numbers back this up; multiple comic book movies have crossed the billion-dollar mark in the last decade and a half. This got me thinking, however. But that’s not enough for Ultron as he also creates the synthezoid Vision, who eventually turns on his creator and allies with the Avengers. The God of Mischief, Loki, is on a mission to conquer Earth, and he will try to do so by any means necessary. He and his army of aliens, known as the Chitauri, wreak havoc on New York and wage war against the freshly formed Avengers. It clearly does not go well for Loki. Spider-Man: No Way Home ($1.9 Billion) Even though Spider-Man is one of the most recognizable superheroes of all time, this movie is the only non-Avenger film on this list. However, it does have an Avengers-type vibe going on. That’s because this movie is a crossover that sees different superheroes come together to defeat a threat that can’t be defeated alone. It just so happens that the heroes who team up are Spider-Man, Spider-Man, and also Spider-Man. Spider-Man: No Way Home earned $1.9 billion at the box office. They defeated an Asgardian God, they defeated a murderous robot, but that pales in comparison to what comes next. Because it’s not just the world that’s being threatened; it’s the entire universe. The Mad Titan Thanos finally makes his move and tries to claim all the Infinity Stones so he can wipe out half of all life in the universe. It’s up to the Avengers, all of them, to try to stop him before it’s too late. Avengers: Endgame ($2.7 Billion) The hype around this movie was immeasurable; it will be a long time before we see anything like this again, if we ever do. So, it’s no surprise that this movie also shattered the box office, picked up all the pieces, then shattered it again. When the dust finally settled, Avengers: Endgame grossed $2.7 billion. But what’s the movie even about? $2.7 billion Picking up directly after Avengers: Infinity War, Endgame sees the Avengers come together once more to try and defeat Thanos.
