Too Long; Didn't Read

This year it’ll be 11 years. 11 years since I started my first real job (just-from-school-know-nothing-at-all) in the web industry. 3 years later my (so far) wildest dream became partially true: become a freelancer to serve clients with websites. What started after hours became more and more a fulltime job, which is since 2011.

This year it’ll be 11 years. 11 years since I started my first real job (just-from-school-know-nothing-at-all) in the web industry. 3 years later my (so far) wildest dream became partially true: become a freelancer to serve clients with websites. In may I will turn 33 years old and I can say I already worked, learned and failed a lot. I’ve had epic times, as well as some experiences where I would think that life would end in 3–2–1... I’m glad ‘happily ever after’ exists, because without it, I think I would’ve been lost in no time.

I’ve been thinking over it for a year now and I believe it’s time to make a switch in my mindset. Freelancing is ‘cool’ (in theory), but let’s face it: it’s actually the same work you do for an employer, with the difference that you have multiple clients, a bigger responsibility and more taxes to be paid in the end (Long Live Belgium). Don’t get me wrong: I’m not looking down on my job or anyone else who’s freelancing his *ss off, but for me I’m losing my drive.

Now we’re two weeks in 2016 already. This year I’ll be changing from freelance to entrepreneur (Time for a new status-option, Facebook!) and my main focus will be to create sustainable businesses, with real solutions for multiple persons / companies at the same time. The change will hopefully make an impression switch too, as I’m not just a freelancer from job to job, but someone who’s giving a professional helping hand.

In 2013 we started with Brandwolves. Consider it as a small creative agency in ‘de Kempen’ (that’s in Belgium) which is starting to bloom, making a sticky bond with our clients for all their on- and offline needs.

On the other hand things are coming together with Careerbox and CareerWorld. It’s been a long trajectory, also with some deep falls and high peaks, but as mentioned in my other post (in dutch, sorry), we’re still heading for a beta-launch in January for Careerbox and Q2/2016 for CareerWorld. Exciting times coming up!

So yes, In fact, it looks like I’m still gonna be freelancing, just with another mindset ;-) And that mindset will be my only resolution.

Now tell me, what are your resolutions?

P.S.: forgive me for weird sentences and typo’s. I’m not that much of a writer…
