This statement is not accurate. NASA's STS-40 spaceflight, which launched on June 5, 1991, did include one female astronaut, but there were only two women on board the mission. The two female astronauts were Dr. Millie Hughes-Fulford, a medical researcher, and Dr. Tamara Jernigan, a physicist. The first spaceflight with three women did not occur until many years later, with the launch of NASA's Expedition 58 in December 2018. The three female astronauts on board were Anne McClain, Christina Koch, and Oleg Kononenko. It's important to ensure that factual information is accurate to avoid spreading misinformation or misunderstanding important events.
Montenegro became the 29th country to join NATO on June 5, 2017. The country's accession to the alliance was the result of a long process of reforms and cooperation with NATO, and it was seen as an important step towards the stability and security of the Western Balkans. Montenegro's membership in NATO was also seen as a way to counteract Russian influence in the region.
The first artificial rubber tires were displayed in Akron, Ohio, USA in June 1937. The tires were made by the Goodrich Corporation (now known as B.F. Goodrich Company) using a synthetic rubber called GR-S (Government Rubber Styrene), which had been developed by a team of scientists led by Julian Hill at the company's laboratories in Akron. The introduction of synthetic rubber was an important development, as natural rubber was in short supply at the time due to the Japanese occupation of Southeast Asia, which had disrupted the supply of natural rubber from that region. The availability of synthetic rubber helped to support the war effort during World War II, and it also led to the development of new and improved types of rubber for a variety of applications.
The appointment of Fatima al-Sabah and Fawzia al-Bahr to Kuwait's municipal council was a significant milestone for women's rights in the country.
In 1752, Benjamin Franklin conducted his famous experiment in which he flew a kite during a thunderstorm to demonstrate that lightning was a form of electricity. The experiment was conducted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and is considered a milestone in the history of electrical science. Franklin had hypothesized that lightning was an electrical phenomenon, and he wanted to prove it. He designed a kite with a metal key tied to the end of the string and flew it in a thunderstorm. As the storm approached, he waited for the kite to be struck by lightning. When the kite was hit, he touched the key with his hand and felt a spark, thus confirming his hypothesis. Franklin's experiment was a breakthrough in the understanding of electricity and the nature of lightning. It provided evidence that lightning was indeed a form of electricity, and it paved the way for further experiments and research in the field of electricity.
