Brewing is a core part of Minecraft, and one of the best potions in the game is the invisibility potion. It allows players to disappear and sneak up on enemies or other players.
To make an invisibility potion, players will need to make a potion of night vision by combining an awkward potion with a golden carrot in a brewing stand. Then, they should add a fermented spider eye to turn it into an invisibility potion.
In this guide, I will explain how to make an invisibility potion in Minecraft, how to get the required materials, and some tips to keep in mind while using it.

Let’s start with the basics of potion brewing. First, players will need access to the Nether biome via a nether portal. From there, they need to gather blaze rods and nether warts, both of which can be found in any Nether Fortress.
Unfortunately, there’s no best way to find a Nether Fortress, as this process depends entirely on RNG and the world seed you got.
The best tip is to keep running straight in one direction with maxed-out view distance on your graphic settings while keeping your eyes peeled for any nether bricks in the distance.
After you find a Nether Fortress, make sure to collect nether wart and hunt blazes near a blaze spawner to get blaze rods.
Try and get around five blaze rods (the more, the merrier) and as many nether warts as you can find in one location (even one is enough - just make sure to farm them before using them in potions to always have excess).
Here’s everything you’ll need to start brewing potions:
To brew potions, craft a brewing stand on a crafting table by combining one blaze rod and three cobblestones/blackstones.
Insert blaze powder on the top left slot of the brewing stand, and place glass bottles filled with water on the bottom three slots.
Add a nether wart on top to convert the water bottles into awkward potions, which are the base of every potion. With these crafted, let’s see how to turn them into invisibility potions.
To convert the previously-made awkward potions into potions of invisibility, the process is fairly straightforward.
Players should add the awkward potions at the bottom slots of a brewing stand while also adding blaze powder on the top left.
Then, insert a golden carrot into the top slot. The brewing process will start, which will turn the awkward potions into potions of night vision.
To get a golden carrot in Minecraft, you can either craft it by combining a normal carrot with gold nuggets or loot it from a Bastion remnant in the Nether biome.
For the last step, simply add a fermented spider eye to turn the potions of night vision into potions of invisibility.
To make a fermented spider eye, combine one mushroom (found in forests), one sugar (made from sugar cane), and one spider eye (looted from spiders).
Keep in mind that your newly-made potions of invisibility will last for 3 minutes each.
To make them last longer, add one redstone dust into the top slot of the brewing stand. This will make each potion last 8 minutes.
You can also decide to add gunpowder to make splash potions of invisibility. These can be thrown on your feet to affect multiple players at the same time or thrown into mobs to turn them invisible.

While the invisibility effect, as described in the game, will render the user invisible, there are certain exceptions to this.
Specifically, the following features will not turn invisible even if the player is under the invisibility effect:
Additionally, keep in mind that the Wither and the Ender Dragon are immune to invisibility.
Therefore, if you want to sneak up on someone, make sure to remove your armor, don’t hold any items, and avoid mounting animals or having any arrows on you. Unfortunately, there is no way to remove the invisibility particles, so you’ll have to hope not to get spotted.
To summarize, you can make an invisibility potion in Minecraft by using a brewing stand, making an awkward potion, and then adding a golden carrot and a fermented spider eye.
For extra duration, add redstone, and if you want to turn it into a splash potion, add gunpowder.
