Hey everyone! and just like you, I’ve been fascinated with the recent progress of artificial intelligence. Realizing that I needed to stay abreast with all the developments happening, I decided to embark on a personal journey of learning, thus was born! With this series, I will be learning about LLMs and share ideas, experiments, opinions, trends & learnings through my blog posts. In today’s article, we’ll be looking to build a Semantic Kernel with the help of GPT-4. , I’m Nataraj 100 days of AI here here In this post we will look at how to use AI to do design thinking for a given business problem. For the sake of this example we define design thinking as a series of steps show below. You can also extend this idea to add more steps and write logic for them. To set context, lets take an example of a which has received some customer feedback recently and use it to apply AI design thinking and come up with ways to improve the business. Coffee Shop We will use Open AI’s gpt-4 model and use Microsoft’s Semantic Kernel to do design thinking. Along the way we will also explore how we can use the concept of Plugins in the Kernel which makes it easy to reuse Semantic Functions. So let’s get into it. : Step 1 – Setup the Kernel The first step is to load the secret key of Open AI from local .env file, and then create new Kernel instance. Then add service to the Kernel. """ : Step 3 – Creating Plugins for Design Thinking What is a Plugin? Semantic Kernel has this feature called Plugins where you can define Semantic Functions their inputs and can re-use them repeatedly. A plug in is made up of two files a .json (contains config info for LLM & input params) & .txt (contains a custom prompt). For design thinking use case we are going to create 4 plugins. You can find the code for all 4 plugins . here : Takes customer feedback and isolates sentiment and gives a concise summary for each sentiment expressed by the customer. Empathize : Takes output from empathize step, categorizes the analysis in a markdown table. Defines the problems & its possible source. Define : Takes the output from the above step and generates ideas in the form of a markdown table with two columns called Low hanging fruit & Higher-hanging fruit. Ideate : This plugin takes in the ideas generated in previous step and gives a low-resolution prototype, so the solution can be tested. PrototypeWithPaper Step 4 – Bring it all together: Note that in the previous steps even though I have given the code for four plugins, explained what they do in the context of Design Thinking. Note how simple Kernel makes calling one plug in after the other all in a single call. To conclude, here is what we did. We wrote custom prompts and made them plugins and put them in a folder called . And then used Kernel to call them using the SWOT analysis & Customer feedback for the Coffee Shop. I spent a week at Microsoft’s Redmond HQ attending an MR Airlift hackathon Azure Mixed Reality development Also, a big “thank you!” to my teammates — Cindy Reichel, Benjamin Peterson, Doug Fahl, and Jeremy Diamond — for making the experience such a valuable one. The way we all worked together to zero in on our application’s scope, then divided and conquered to achieve our goals, made this such a successful and enjoyable experience. The Prompt My team’s prompt was to . build a mixed reality application for a warehouse employee using HoloLens and Azure Cognitive Services I have to admit, I rolled my eyes when I first read this. “This is what I always see HoloLens being used for. Why couldn’t we do something cool with it?,” was what I was thinking. But I would soon come to realize this was the best prompt we could have been given. Here’s why: makes a distinction which speaks to the untapped potential of mixed reality. Microsoft says there are and (I believe this how they classify the second group). The later is a traditional office worker and has been the target of the PC and software industry ever since . The former represents a massive, more than two billion strong, untapped market of workers who do not fit within the traditional definition of an office worker, and as such, haven’t benefited from computing in the same way information workers have. Microsoft firstline workers information workers Doug Engelbart’s demo of productivity software in 1968 Mixed reality devices such as HoloLens will enable data to exist in a real-world context, and allow software engineers to optimize a host of firstline worker related operations that have thus far been out of the reach of traditional information worker computing platforms. When you add cognitive services, such as the ones offered by Azure, these technologies represent a truly transformative potential for computing. In retrospect, my presumptions about warehouse HoloLens applications being played-out and mundane were wrong. In fact, they are quite the opposite. The Problem One of my teammates, Cindy Reichel, owns a shop here in Seattle and pointed out that she would love to be able to use HoloLens to keep track of her store’s inventory. She was able to provided the group with real-world data on how resource consuming and error prone it is to keep track of inventory with the tools available to small business owners such as herself. Thus, the objective of our application would be to optimize the task of taking inventory by making it more intuitive and engaging using HoloLens and Azure Cognitive Services. Here’s my team’s final slide deck that establishes our assumption and outlines our solution. The Demo Here is Cindy demoing our HoloLens application using a mock storeroom shelf. She uses HoloLens gestures as well as natural language to interact with the application and complete an inventory of our mock retail store backroom. Reflections The MR Airlift taught me a great deal about developing for HoloLens and working with Azure Cognitive Services. However, the most important lesson I learned was that you should be thinking outside the potentially narrow borders of your industry, and consider emerging tech as an inter-related whole. The reason I assumed our HoloLens prompt would be boring was because I only considered the mixed reality aspects of the prompt, and not the potential of incorporating cognitive services. I went into MR Airlift steadfast in my belief that I was from the AR/VR/MR/etc. industry, but I left as someone interested in the intersection of all emerging technologies, not just one specific technology. I don’t believe there is a meaningful AR/VR/MR industry without AI/ML, chatbots, IoT, and blockchain industries. Likewise, other emerging technologies become more interesting when you consider how AR/VR/MR can be applied to them. In the end there are just old ways of doing things, and now, thanks to companies like Microsoft, vast amounts of technology at our disposal to optimize those old ways. As problem solvers, we’ve never had it easier. The HoloLens inventory app my team and I created over the course of a week would have been impossible just a handful of years ago. How I spent a week at Microsoft’s Mixed Reality Airlift

Being a founder of multiple failed startups, I always tried to find a way of cheap advertising techniques to get results with minimum investment. In this struggle, one day I came across Search Engine Optimization ( ) and I can confidently say, it changed my life. SEO What is SEO? For people who don’t know what is SEO, it is a process of increasing traffic to your website through Google search results. marketing There are basically two types of search engine optimization; they are the on-site SEO and the off-site SEO. · This technique is implemented within your website to ensure title, description, tags, and content is optimized for the targeted keywords. On-page SEO: · Off-page SEO is web optimization done outside of your website. This involves article posting, directory submissions, ad-posting, social media management, and image submission etc. Off-page SEO: My SEO Learning Phase: When I got convinced that how much powerful SEO is in the world of advertising, I didn’t waste a moment and started learning it right away. It was very overwhelming at the first because I had a limited knowledge about this process. But when I studied deeply with the help of different guides and tutorials, I was highly impressed. I took a start from its fundamentals, in which keyword research is the most important thing for implementing SEO on your website. I searched different keywords, checked their rankings, competition, and volume through SEO tools. SEO implementation on my Startup Berq Properties! is an online real estate agency which assists buyers in purchasing property in multiple housing schemes in Pakistan. It refers leads to partner real estate agency which offers commission on every sale. After learning enough about SEO, I decided to implement it on my website. Berq Properties I took the responsibility to optimize SEO and write articles, and my partner joined me as a sales professional. Our Strategy Our aim was to collect real estate leads through the website using SEO techniques. Our initial SEO focus was to rank our pages for the most popular real estate keywords in Pakistan which made it difficult for us to compete with older websites. (They were high competition keywords). In the start, we managed to attract only a few hundred visitors. After a few months, I reviewed my SEO strategy, because I came to know that high competition keywords would require more resources, time and money. So I decided to work on a new strategy. Switching to a new SEO Strategy In my new strategy, I focused my SEO efforts on newer housing projects with low competition keywords. Since it is easy for untapped keywords to beat powerful and old websites like Zameen and Lamudi. So, whenever new real estate project launches, we ensured that we work on that untapped keyword to take the website to the top of Google search results. During that time, one day I got a call from my partner and he informed me that a new project “ ” is about to launch soon. So, I immediately made a new page on my website with the same project name. Hence, the race to increase the number of visitors started. After making its page, I worked on its SEO all night long. I wrote few articles on it and backlinked it to my landing page. Furthermore, to give it an extra juice, I made a Facebook ad which sends interested users to our new page. Bahria Paradise Finally, I was able to Beat Zameen.com and OLX.com.pk With our continuous SEO efforts and dedication, finally, our website was showing at the top of Google search results and successfully beaten other famous websites such as Zameen.com, olx.com.pk, and bahriatown.com. It was a great achievement for us because if anyone searches Bahria Paradise Karachi, they find our website page at the top of Google searches. As most of the people prefer to click a website which is showing on the top, so this gives our page higher Clickthrough rate (CTR) and higher traffic. Our daily users were spontaneously increased from 56 to 1069, that is 1800% increase in daily visitors. We started to receive hundreds of calls and it didn’t stop till a month. With continuous efforts, we successfully earned million rupees in just a month by being a middleman, and our monthly sales increased 50%. SEO Technique that Works: From this experience, I concluded that the above SEO technique works instantly. Similarly, you can apply this technique as well, just follow the below steps: Research untapped keywords in your industry which have a probability of getting higher traffic volume in the future. Be first to publish content on a chosen keyword. Optimize on-site and off-site SEO for the landing page. Try to increase traffic on the landing page through Facebook Ads and Google AdWords. How I Made a Million Rupees in Just a Month with SEO?

As a result, businesses like like Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure currently dominate the market, charging premium prices based on the computing power required by consumers. Generally, there are four types of cloud offerings: is a service operated solely for a given organization, providing companies with the ability to customize their digital infrastructure and ensure data confidentiality. 1. The private cloud is hosted by service providers and is more commonly used by the general public. 2. Over the past 5 years especially, cloud computing has propelled a major shift in productivity — in the workplace, between remote teams, etc. — and fundamentally changed the way people use and access digital applications (e.g. file sharing through public clouds like Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive). However, cloud computing remains an intensive process which most businesses lack the capacity to perform in-house. One potential approach to reduce the resource burden of cloud computing would be splitting up processing activities such that multiple computers can work on a task simultaneously. This concept is known as “distributed cloud computing,” which refers to technologies that connect the computing power of many computers on a decentralized network to reduce resource use and maximize computational power. Suddenly, computers connected within a network can communicate by passing messages about which portion of the puzzle they’re working on, and whether they’ve solved it yet. Remote Procedure Calls (RPC) or Remote Method Invocations (RMI) then distribute a computational task among available computers so they can work in parallel. Companies actively rising to providing distributed cloud computing services on the blockchain to the market include Ankr, Golem, SONM, DFinity, IExec, Perlin, and Hypernet. Today, most services are Ethereum based. They all provide cloud computing in some form, often through smart contracts on a blockchain. Golem and SONM are similar, but target different niches of the market. Both provide computing by using third party cloud computing containers like Docker, to manage the different needs of multiple clients. . , using an existing grid computing platform to provide computing units rather than outsourcing to a third party. Having total control of your wallet is a little unfamiliar for many people. It's not like a bank account where you can call customer support if you forget your access code or if funds go missing. You are in total control of your wallet, keys, and assets. How can blockchain technology and smart contracts address these challenges and enhance the security of P2E game rewards? I think the biggest issue in the industry isn't about the security of blockchain technology itself; it's about educating users on proper data storage and how to avoid scams or phishing attacks. If you're storing your access keys digitally, which many people do for convenience, you're putting yourself at a huge risk. Every day in the P2E and blockchain space, people fall victim to phishing attacks, where they click on a risky link and willingly but unknowingly hand over their access keys to bad actors. Another issue with blockchain that helps these bad actors identify and target their victims is that blockchain data is public. Let's say you give someone your wallet address to make a small transfer to you; they can now use the various blockchain explorer tools to see EXACTLY what you hold in your wallet. They can pinpoint their victims based on how many assets they can steal. This doesn't exist in the traditional world - no one can simply take your bank account IBAN and peek into it to see exactly how much money you have available for them to steal potentially. While there are still more steps a scammer needs to take to access those blockchain assets, they can at least identify and qualify targets worth investing their time into attacking. Why do you think many P2E games are not utilizing blockchain and smart contracts to protect rewards, especially when they are already developing on-chain gaming? I would disagree here; not many projects in the P2E gaming space are developing on-chain gaming - blockchain is mainly used for tokenization and storage of assets, and the vast majority of game functions are happening off-chain, just like in the legacy gaming space. The issue with players losing their rewards isn't so much about the security of blockchain; I think it's inherently much more secure than a bank account, for example. But if someone gets their hands on your bank card or your information, that's where the issues start. They can start making online purchases with their money or even tapping debit cards in person without needing any PIN or verification. It's the same issue with crypto - blockchain technology itself is very secure. Still, the real issue is how users or even big companies secure their data and manage their cybersecurity. Can you provide some insights into the challenges and risks associated with the traditional methods of reward management in P2E games that LandRocker's approach aims to address? Most only use blockchain technology to tokenize assets; how they distribute rewards in their game ecosystem is generally managed off-chain. P2E games Let's say you're running an online casino that lets users play games with their crypto tokens; the calculations and rewards are handled off-chain, just like a traditional casino.
