What motivated you to start Pushstart ? Back then, when I was doing my 9–5 job, I used to discuss a lot of startup ideas with my colleagues. Someone would bounce an idea and we would have a crazy discussion but that was it. We would never take it to the next step. I personally found the discussions to be vague as we didn’t have the relevant knowledge. So often, I would try reaching out to experienced folks online, but it never really worked. Most of the times my messages were ignored and even when someone bothered to read my message, they didn’t reply. I got a few replies but none of them were welcoming. (Sounds familiar?) Here in India, reaching out to folks who know stuff is tough. This is when I thought that there might be millions of folks like me, facing this problem every day and I need to do something about it. After thinking for days, I came up with a solution, which was to create a platform where the experienced lot can share their feedback and learnings on startup ideas shared by young entrepreneurs. I discussed this idea with my friends but no one really seemed to be interested. I also posted about it on various forums but nothing really kicked off. I did this for around a month and in the end dropped the idea of working on it. I kind of moved on into my life with obvious roles but I realised that this time was no similar to the previous ones. Every single day the problem used to bug me and I would frame and reframe the product in my mind. (I used to daydream a lot you know) It became so unusual for me, that I finally decided to go on with it. I started reading books and online content to actually figure out the next practical and logical step. I would recommend every entrepreneur to read “ ” by . I rather spent all my efforts to answer the two most important questions: 1. Was actually solving a real problem? 2. If yes, for whom? As I started off with my group, getting initial users was not a big deal. This is when, I put my friends to use by adding them to the group as the first set of users. Facebook I also messaged few of my relevant friends about this new thing I was working on. They told me that they will contribute whenever required.(Yes, you guessed it correctly, they didn’t.) Getting initial engagement is pretty tough as the reputation of a group is so bad that no one really cares to look at it. Facebook I was getting close to zero engagement on for the first 15 days. Then I adopted the following methodology to bring a dynamic change: Pushstart I personally interacted with the users who seemed to be a little bit excited about the community; the ones who were engaging with us. I talked to them about my vision and asked for their feedback. (Through the conversations I tried to figure out why were they getting engaged and what could be done to retain them.)I curated a list of over 100 relevant potential users among Pushstart's member list and sent each one of them a personal message.Then I talked with them and tried to figure out why they were not getting engaged. “Keep the conversations healthy and friendly while interacting with people. You want them, they don’t. The major problem with any online community is that no one wants to be the first ones to contribute. There are few folks out there who act like Angels and become early contributors. Find them, convince them, listen to them and keep them happy. I still remember our first “ ”; there were around 35 members who participated. (I know! It’s an everlasting process.” Since then, Pushstart has evolved into what it is right now. On this very day, five months back, Pushstart was started as an and now it has turned into Idea Validation platform a family of entrepreneurs who share their startup ideas, launch their startups and discuss their startup-problems to come up with sustainable solutions. “You can’t really restrict a community while it grows. Let it evolve according to the market needs. The community won’t boom in India if it is not solving a core problem. . (I have tried this in multiple forms but unfortunately it doesn’t work. We are not the evangelists kind.)It’s relatively easy if you have an audience, to begin with. had a great fan following and network at the time they started out.Seed the community with your friends as its initial members. If your friends back out; Be clear about the culture and communicate it well. Keep it invite-only at the start so that the culture penetrates well. Many times you will have to go that extra mile, but it will be worth it. If you can match-up to his/her expectations, he/she will go around talking about you and there I can see you grow organically. (Even today I work my ass off to match the expectations.) . You cannot be a dictator and expect them to follow you. Remember that it is not a political affair, the crowd have got options here. (“We not I”)Make them feel that they are (We have kept a stringent quality checks at the entry to Pushstart.) . (I take feedback on everything related to the community.) (I launch a new initiative each week.) (I have build trust with fellow Pushstarters by interacting with them regularly, calling and meeting them whenever possible. Meeting offline helps in accelerating the process of trust building.) why you are building it and for whom We are too busy and young to discuss latest technology/happenings/startups Product Hunt , SO and Quora founders go out, talk to relevant folks and make new friends. Keep the experience at the top of your priority list. A community is for, by and of the people part of something unique and exclusive. Listen to them, give them power and involve them in decision making Keep it interesting out there. Lastly community is all about human connections, relationships and trust. 6. What are your future goals and how do you plan to achieve them? Through Pushstart I want to reduce the knowledge gap that currently exists in the startup ecosystem by making both knowledge and the person possessing that knowledge accessible to millions of young entrepreneurs like me. Building a sustainable startup community where genuine startup problems are solved by the most relevant folks and a culture where people help and respect each other’s view, irrespective of their profile and qualifications was the first step towards my mission. . This interview marks the beginning of my next step, which is to create a medium through which critical actionable insights, learnings, and knowledge of successful entrepreneurs can be transferred to folks starting up with their ventures It will also put Pushstart in front of a larger audience and indirectly propel our growth. Over the course of next few months, I will be interviewing entrepreneurs who started solo with little to no technical expertise, followed their passion and built successful sustainable tech-businesses. The main focus will be to provide actionable insights, rather than storytelling and product marketing. Also, the interviewee will be accessible to Pushstarters for future knowledge transfer. A major focus will also be on making Pushstart sustainable in terms of revenue. I will be exploring and trying out various options to make that happen. Right collaborations and partnerships will play an important role in my quest for sustainability. 7. The Biggest challenges you have faced till now and how did you cope with them? The Biggest challenge that I have faced till now is to establish and penetrate this new culture in India where people help each other, irrespective of their profile and qualifications. “We in India don’t really invest our precious time in something till we seek direct monetary benefit out of it.” Following things have helped me in establishing and maintaining the culture in Pushstart: I was pretty clear that Pushstart’s culture is above all; even I cannot disrupt it.I made sure that There is an essence of it in every conversation.I made it pretty clear to the initial members by making them believe in its importance. (There were times when I used to ping people multiple times to comment and share their expertise.)Once I had enough believers, the culture penetrated on its own.Since then, I have maintained the culture as it gets a little bit distorted with every new addition. it is clear, precise and well communicated. 9 Free Data Science Courses & Guides For Beginners

Before I started turning this question over in my mind, I decided to do something I used to do while preparing for debates when I was in school: I Googled the exact meaning of the word. And there were the results ! If you look at how Oxford defines 'Perfect' as a verb , you would realise that the two interpretations and hence the two meanings are actually contradictory to each other. While one school of thought defines it as to make ( something ) completely free from faults or defects; the other defines it as to make as good as possible. Yes , I know , the latter definition is a welcome realisation. I for one, grew up defining Perfection based on the first definition, and also treated it as a very important benchmark. Whether it was my academics, my behaviour, my relationships, I grew up expecting all of them to be completely free from faults or defects, so much so that I started expecting the same from me. I soon realised that (based on my earlier interpretation and the former Oxford Definition), and started passing judgements on myself as well as others around me. nothing is perfect Anything that was shy of Perfect was simply a failure. This wasn’t the best phase of my life and resulted in consequent failures, some of which still bother me today. Something needed to change. The question was should I now change my personal benchmark to Average? Should we accept that performance can sometimes just not be perfect or free from defects? What do we do if we have made many mistakes in the past, can Life or Work never be Perfect again? That’s when I realised the importance of Fresh Starts. If we had to go by the former definition of the word Perfect , then even the most successful person would fail to make that benchmark and be subsequently declared a failure. We are Human after all and while the former definition is important in theory, the latter definition makes it an attainable goal. Perfection, when it is defined “to make as good as possible”, is a much more realistic as a benchmark. While making important decisions , we are often consumed by this important question. Whether it’s a life decision , or a decision to build a new ERP, or a decision to expand into new markets, all we must evaluate is that — in those given circumstances, will the decision help us reach the best that is possible ? We cannot guarantee that it will be free from defects , but can we have to make sure that it’s the best solution possible. My experience while designing and implementing Custom ERPs for our clients at , has reiterated this belief of mine. No matter how much we try, every business process has its own exceptions, and implementing a solution free from all defects is impossible. While we deliver the best solution possible given the current circumstances (information in our case ) , the drive towards a system free from all faults or defects remains a constant pursuit — something we can only come closer to with every subsequent attempt. Infimonk . Perfection is not an unreasonable benchmark Maybe not the former definition, nor the latter one. While the first is important for strategy the second one is important to evaluate operations. Neither my life nor my work is free from defects, but I also trust it’s the best that’s possible. Is Perfection An Unreasonable Benchmark?

In fact it could be the solution to the life’s biggest unanswered question as to How Life works, why does the universe behave the way it does. While Albert Einstein explains that all motion must be relative to a frame of reference and that space and time are relative, rather than absolute concepts. Einstein’s theory explains the how and the what but not the why ? defined I have always been intrigued by the Hindu Philosophy of which explains that the universe is largely the result of three different cosmic forces , the creator represented by the deity Brahma, the preserver represented by the deity Krishna , and the destroyer represented by the deity Shiva. Time and again these forces take the form of different avatars to manifest themselves and forward their respective agendas, thereby, keeping the universe in a state of equilibrium. Trimuti For the purpose of simplicity , we will observe this phenomenon at three different levels of existence : · The Human Body · Life at Large. · Commercial Transactions. The Human Body : The creator or Brahma is in essence the soul, which gives life to what is otherwise just Earth. The preserver or Krishna exists in the form of the biological anatomy or the underlying principles of the functioning of the human body. According to me, The Human Body is network of blockchain ecosystems interacting with each other and the external environment with an extremely complicated smart contract. I know these seems rather ridiculous yet funny at the same time but trust you me the explanation further might be able to shed some light. How does a blockchain network work- A network of individual peers interact with each other to attain the same goal.The system scans itself regularly to ensure each peer is functioning properly and if not, is corrected.If majority of the peers get corrupt, the blockchain fails. Much like the above, every organ functions in absolutely the same manner. A network of individual cells interact with each other to attain the same goal.The system scans itself regularly to ensure each cell is functioning properly and if not, is corrected.If majority of the cells get corrupt, the organ fails.Each organ system is therefore a network of interoperable blockchain networks and the human body an even more complex network of blockchain networks. Life at Large : When we talk about life at large, the modern day equivalent of brahma is man himself.They say that everything that we see and use today was first conceived simply in the form of an idea in the human brain. Much like a blockchain network, the creative force or initiation of a transaction with the rest of the environment first affects and needs validation from people( closest to you in life**(network)**, peers) Krishna or the preserver is again the underlying principle of the basis of which the universe works. Functions of the universe like success and fortune and their negative equivalents are distributed based on complex interactions between individual ecosystems each governing a small part of this giant moving mechanism. To be specific would limit the scope , however we can again see the existence of various governing principles also used on blockchain networks like the proof of work, stake , authority and many others to come. Life is but a sum of all your choices.Every choice you make in life is a real time implementation of proof of stake and how you arrive at consensus for choice in life. Commercial Success is largely driven by the blockchain consensus mechanism of proof of work. While things like the justice system are based on proof of authority. The consequences or the awards and punishments distributed by virtue of this principal are essentially the manifestations of shiva or the destroyer. The unique outcome of any event has an opportunity cost , in essence it destroys the parallel lives that could have been lead based on any outcome other than the unique outcome that occurred. Commercial Transactions : The various stakeholders in the market place play the role of the creative force or Brahma. Until now the businesses worked and interacted with each other based on these mystical power called trust. Blockchain removes the need to do that. It provides a secure trustable mechanism for awards to be distributed based on predefined terms.Every business contract can be represented in the form of a blockchain network, of-course varying in types and consensus algorithms based on use case. Shiva manifested itself in the form of various changes in technology and ideas which change the scope of commercial transactions forever. We are aware of the impact of things like mechanisation , automation , the internet on commercial transactions as we know it. Satoshi , an incarnation of Shiva decided to introduce blockchain and change the per-view of commercial transactions completely. While it destroys industries like accounting and reconciliation it gives scope to absolutely new types of industries like the blockchain industry itself. I don’t know about you , but Satoshi Nakamoto definitely holds a spiritual super powerful or as the common man would say Godly presence in my life.

Why Satoshi Nakamoto could be God ?

In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” We were in between one our meetings when suddenly the idea struck me. After all we are trying to solve problems of today, while keeping scalability for the future in mind. The exercise was being carried out to better understand trends and practices in the future. What’s the best way to predict the future ? Like my partner Sumit says, “the best way to predict the future is to invent it,” and we were looking for inspiration for our invention. That’s when we started making observations on the history and evolution of society. Man has come a long way, we started out as hunter gatherers and have now reached a post industrial era of digital assets and transactions. What really gathered our attention was the evolution of society and politics with the use of different forms of money. While we started out with exchanging goods and services under a barter economy, polity was limited to the scope of individuals or smaller groups.These groups increased in size and became semi settled and stopped moving around as often as hunter gatherers. The new form of Money was now Commodity Money — issued by the newly formed political organisations within such groups. What’s really interesting to observe is the impact that these different forms of Money had over the evolution of politics and it’s different forms. While commodity money sped up the settlement process , it had its own limitations when put to use for larger groups. Enter, money in the form of metallic objects or better known as Coin Money. Historians believe that the first use of coin money began as early as 5000 BC. It’s no wonder that the first signs of formal and organised government only started cropping out after that when Sargon the Great (who ruled 2334–2279 BCE) unified Mesopotamia under the rule of his and set the standard for future forms of government in Mesopotamia. Akkadian Empire Whether it was evolution of money which pushed for the evolution of polity or the other way around is an inconclusive debate, what is for certain is that there is a significant correlation between the evolution of the two: money and Polity. Coin money had its own limitations especially when it came to uniformity of weight and purity of precious metals which finally resulted in the State to not only take up this activity but make it one of its main functions. Coin Money issued by different states starting representing the different polities. Greater rise in commerce required a more convenient form of money. It was difficult to carry around excessive weights of gold or silver and hence, paper money was introduced. The very idea stemmed from goldsmiths who would often issue bills of receipt to people for their deposits of gold and these bills could be exchanged for gold at a later date.This was a significant stimulus to the introduction of paper currency as it implied that the money represented an equivalent amount of gold or silver that existed somewhere else. The 20th Century witnessed interesting developments in the sphere of both- Polity and Money. While the world witnessed an unprecedented rise of republicanism resulting in sovereign states beginning to gain independence from its foreign rulers, its around the same time, later in the century, that the United States decided to move away from Gold Backed Paper currency to what would be now known as Fiat Currency. Fiat Currency is legal tender whose value is backed by the government that issued it and this became the norm as we entered the 21st Century. Technology gave way for its use in the form of Bank money or plastic money, however the basic principle of it being backed by a national government remained the same. Again to define whether it was a change in polity and its status that fuelled the change to fiat currency or the other way around is a difficult task, but a clear correlation can be observed between the two. James Madison “Liberty may be endangered by the abuse of liberty, but also by the abuse of power.”- While the rationale for change to fiat currency was economic stability, many argue that the intention was getting more power. Independent countries have been forwarding their agendas with a greater force now more than ever, especially with a greater control over money. History suggests that the life cycle of fiat currency has always ended in its failure. The Romans were the first to begin its use as early as the 1st Century which ended with its eventual devaluation and collapse, so much so that it has also always ended with the collapse of the economy housing the same fiat currency. Fiat currency definitely did not meet its rationale of a stable economy and thats when technology gave us an alternative. On January 2009, Satoshi Nakamoto released the bitcoin software as open source code, and created the first 50 bitcoins, known as the “genesis block”.
