People Operations is the single most important function in a start-up company. A mis-hiring is not only an expensive mistake, it can also represent a setback in building your product or supporting your customers. The hiring process is even worse from the perspective of the job seeker. This approach has helped me both hire better people and land better job opportunities. I’ve developed a simple approach to hiring that’s helped me cut through the bullshit on both sides of the hiring process.
