Why I Started A Real Estate Company…

The rise of technology reminds me of the gold rush, with plenty of people trying to find or create the gold app that they can cash in and make millions. But for me I enjoy the perks of using technology but I have no interest in moving to Silicon Valley. I got into real estate because I wanted to develop abandon homes in urban communities in Chicago. I saw real estate as an opportunity to change Chicago and make money simultaneously, from there it was a no brainer. Running my real estate company doesn’t require me to work 40+ hours a week and 49 weeks out of the year.

Real Estate Investing For Millennials

What a time to be alive…

It’s a special time right now and I’m sure most of us will appreciate it long after its over. The rise of technology reminds me of the gold rush, with plenty of people trying to find or should I say create the gold app that they can cash in and make millions. But for me I enjoy the perks of using technology but I have no interest in moving to Silicon Valley … for now.

I chose real estate….Here’s why…

1. Change My Community

As a kid you’re asked what do you want to be when you grow up, my answer was I wanted to help people and make a lot of money. That answer is still with me today.

In my market (Chicago) a stable home could save a life. I got into real estate because I wanted to develop abandon homes in urban communities. The amount of unoccupied real estate in Chicago is mind blowing what’s worst are the illegal actions that take place in these spaces. I saw real estate as an opportunity to change Chicago and make money simultaneously, from there it was a no brainer.

2. Time Value or Valuable Time

I’ve always believed time is priceless. It controls all things and it is impossible to get it back once you lose it. One of my biggest fears is working a 9–5 until I’m 65 years old and at the end they give me the OK to retire. THAT IS CRAZY and TIME WASTED! As entrepreneurs we love time! As millennials we love time! The traditional way of living just doesn’t work for us. Well I know it does not work for me.

The most successful companies of our generation has found the way to sell time! For example Uber, which we all love! Uber is crushing it for simply saving us time on having to find a parking spot in a metropolitan area, a ride to the airport at 5am, and my favorite a DD on a Saturday evening! They sell us our time back and simply make life easier. Running my real estate company doesn’t require me to work 40+ hours a week and 49 weeks out of the year. I need that time to spend with my family, to go on fields trips with my son, and travel around to the World Cup. I also need that time to create and be grateful for the beautiful life God has given me.

3. SHOW ME THE MONEY!

When starting a business the goal should be to make money but for me the goal is to be wealthy. I’m laying the foundation to create generational wealth, I’m here to establish a company that my great grandkids will benefit from. I’ve studied the ones before me who have made billions in real estate and like every other competitive industry there’s always someone gunning for the top spot. That someone is me.
