MQTT is a high-use technology that was initially used to build connections within a satellite-based network. The lightweight protocol allowed for low bandwidth and power consumption. The Internet of Things is one of the most popular application fields for this protocol. We will talk about the strong and weak points of this messaging standard and compare it with other competing technologies. The technology is over twenty years old and it is commonly used in communication networks of different types. We discuss the advantages of using it for your device, instead of other protocols, in this article.
