Dave McClure is the founding partner of 500 Startups, a venture capital firm and startup incubator in Silicon Valley founded by PayPal and Google alumni, with over $250M under management. Dave has been geeking out in Silicon Valley for 25 years, and (even though I’m not sure he’ll admit it) he’s definitely one of the OG’s in the industry, and venture capital in particular.
Of course, when I got the chance to sit down with Dave, I asked him the questions everyone wants to know, like What does it take for a founder to get his attention? How did he grow 500 Startups into a global phenomenon?_…_but I also inquired about Dave’s personal passions and interests, and really aimed to understand why he built 500 Startups in the first place and what his aspirations are for it going forward.
