Food vendors in California are embracing facial recognition — technology that lets you pay with a smile. CaliBurger, a California-based fast food chain, has been using facial recognition technology to simplify the checkout process for almost two years now. MasterCard has recently launched its Selfie Pay Wallet — a digital wallet that requires Face ID to complete a payment. The Australian Government is experimenting with replacing passports with facial recognition. The technology is not quite ready to replace passports, but it seems to be accurate enough for commercial vendors.
