The flourishing web3 gaming industry is reimagining how we interact with technology and one another. Upland's one-of-a-kind metaverse, grounded in real-world locations and assets, presents developers with an unparalleled opportunity to create immersive and captivating experiences for users.

The 2023 Upland Hackathon encompasses three tracks devised to challenge and inspire developers:

  1. Metaverse Innovation Track,

  2. FIFA Women's World Cup Australia/New Zealand 2023 (FWWC23) Track, and

  3. Design Track.

Victorious participants will reap financial rewards and the chance to join Upland's post-hackathon incubator, nurturing continued growth and development. This hackathon intends to promote the adoption of web3 concepts further and drive engagement within the Upland platform.

The hackathon's three distinct tracks will supply developers, designers, artists, gamers, and blockchain aficionados with the required tools and support to breathe life into their web3 gaming concepts. By utilizing Upland's straightforward REST APIs, participants will have the chance to etch their presence on the virtual map.

An eclectic panel of judges from Upland, FIFA, and the EOS Network Foundation will assess project submissions based on an array of criteria, including the quality of the pitch and prototype, utilization of Upland's third-party development tools, team composition, business feasibility, and alignment with the hackathon's mission statement.

The FIFA Women's World Cup Australia/New Zealand 2023 offers an exclusive opportunity for developers to create games and experiences using FIFA NFTs in Upland, capitalizing on Upland's third-party SDK. The Design Track beckons creators to design a 3D trophy asset for the World of Football eSports tournament, while the Innovation Track encourages the creation of community-focused web3 games and experiences.

Grand prize winners of the FIFA Women's World Cup Australia/New Zealand 2023 and Innovation Tracks will each pocket $10,000, with runners-up collecting $5,000. The Design Track winner will amass 2 million Upland UPX tokens. All grand prize and runner-up victors will also score invitations to join Upland's post-hackathon incubator.
