Two-year-old Xenia Rose has already started working towards her dream of being a professional artist, with the launch of her first collection of NFTs. Her mum, Lauren Gilman, a software developer from Suffolk, UK, decided to turn her daughter’s love of drawing and painting into a series of NFTs to hopefully ensure a secure financial future for her budding artist.

“Xenia Rose has loved drawing since she was old enough to hold her first crayon. She will happily spend hours drawing and sketching on whatever she can get her hands on. When I got a new iPad, she was hooked and instantly started creating her own digital artwork using the Apple pencil. She gets such pleasure from her art and I want to ensure that she can afford to continue this passion for as long as she wants” explains Lauren.

With NFTs becoming more and more popular and some collections changing hands for in excess of £400,000, it is a growing art marketplace that is beginning to achieve mainstream credibility.

Lauren says “I have been closely watching the growing popularity of NFTs, but not being an artist myself, thought it was something I would never be able to get involved in. But when Xenia Rose showed a passion for digital art, a light bulb went off in my head and I thought there is no harm in putting her art out there for the world to see.”

Xenia Rose’s first collection is called Animals and features an abstract representation of the various pets, farm animals and zoo animals she has seen in her life. Her first ever NFT titled, Tortuse, is based on her pet Horsefield tortoise ‘Norman’.
