The Evolution Of Hacking Data Storage [Infographic] shows the evolution of computer storage and cybersecurity. Early computer storage was rudimentary, and there was no viable threat of hackers in those early decades of computing. Once data storage became more sophisticated, hackers became a real threat. In 1971 the first computer virus was written as a test, and it was then that computer scientists discovered that alongside the development of new technologies, new ways of protecting data would need to be created. The more advances in computing technology, the more advances are made in hacking exploits.
