In the age when screen resolution is, like, four times higher than in 1996, and when mobile screen is itself half of an iPad who on earth do need mobile web version?
Well, I need, but people usually don’t spend a lot of time doing a right mobile version. A lot of mismatches, you basically get mobile ‘s cut version and it’s awful. The rule of thumb — a user should be able to repeat the same actions she able to do on a full-screen version. Yes, frequent actions should be moved on top of everything, but I should be able to do and should be able to view everything that I had on a full-screen.
You say it’s about page load time? But you have LTE now, which is few times faster than your old ADSL connection, people don’t care about web page size anymore on mobile — I update my apps while being on LTE and it’s fine, I don’t care if it’s 1mb or 300kb of data, it’s superfast anyway.
Ok, you still think that mobile version is necessary as it’s more suitable for people with impaired vision. But just give me an option to use a full-screen website with a single link. And don’t place it under auto-updating content list when I scroll and new data appears and I just can’t click. Thank you.
