First of all, my mother tongue is Chinese so this post may have some grammar errors or not and thanks for your consideration.

Many of my friends start learning front-end skills since they simply find out coding is funny, and they also eager to know how to do some contributions to open source project.

However, Pull Request this method seems unfamiliar with them and that’s one of the reason why I wanna write down this tiny cheatsheet.

Learning by doing can help you realize one thing much more efficiently, and so do contributions for open source. Fortunately, annual Hacktoberfest is a friendly way for beginners to start their journey for OSS. You can even obtain free stickers & T-shirt from Github as long as you contribute at least four Pull Requests in October.

You have to sign up with your Github account above all:https://hacktoberfest.digitalocean.com/sign_up/register

Related projects waiting for contributions can be found at the following link, and if you’re willing to be one of the part, just add a tag called “Hacktoberfest” on Issue of your project:https://hacktoberfest.digitalocean.com/#projects

It’s nice to see how friendly open source community are, like first-contributions this project is one of a good example:https://github.com/Roshanjossey/first-contributions

You can even check your progress with Hacktoberfest checker:https://github.com/jenkoian/hacktoberfest-checker

In answer to this activity, I also create a simple side project in my spare time called awesome-singer-official-portal. It collects a list related to famous singers or bands’ official websites and any Star & Pull Requests also welcome!

Last but not the least, I do really learn a lot of skills and knowledge from open source community, and most important of all: Taken from Open Source/ Give back to Open Source . Enjoy it.
