Reactive Relational Database Connectivity (R2DBC) is a new connectivity specification that supports reactive programming. MariaDB recently released their new connector to create fully reactive, reactive, Java Spring applications. We'll walk through the process of creating a simple todo application using the new MariaDB connector. The code is open-source and follows the R2BC 0.881 specifications. We're going to walk through how to use the new connector and then dive into the code to see how the MariaDB can be used.
