Pandemic Remote Work != Remote Work

Too Long; Didn't Read

Working remotely has many similarities to code reviews, here and here, as well as code reviews. The promises of remote work: more flexibility, in addition to more productivity, just do not hold true in such a setting. We should not have to deal with a pandemic and economic crisis at the same time as we switch to a remote workstyle. Here are my words of caution and tips to make pandemic remote work better. Let’s focus on empathy and compassion and not on productivity, and cut each other some slack.
