Berkeley Startup Job Fair Localwise This job fair serves to take one of many necessary steps to address diversity challenges in the startup sector and create an inclusive foundation as Berkeley grows to be an important tech hub. In the past five years, Berkeley has witnessed remarkable growth in the startup sector. In 2011, OED counted 100 startups in Berkeley and today startups in Berkeley number 300. Job creation has accompanied this growth as, since 2014, there has been a 23 percent increase in jobs available at Berkeley startups.
