I earned $20 worth of Sand with my simple design and got the chance to win the Axie Infinity scholarship
Early this month, my brother shared about this gaming-metaverse and its ways to join. And I did not pay attention at first since my interest is not in gaming--not until he told me that I would be able to monetize through it. And my answer was, “Heck, why not?” LOL!
Since I love designing and creating art pieces, he later invited me to join this community for creators building assets for games.
A mini-series of competitions are held weekly in the Philippines headed by Peter Ing, the Philippine Ambassador of Sandbox Academy for BlockchainSpacePH.
Artists are encouraged to create a design by simply building blocks until they can make a model with a minimum of 64 voxels per asset.
My interest in the platform grew as I dug deep into its ways because since I am just a beginner, so did my creations.
Artists will create an asset through VoxEdit or using other software to build voxel-styled content. After you constructed your model, you can submit it through the link posted on the Sandbox Philippines page and wait for their update within a few days for your reward. Just don’t forget to follow their official Facebook page so you won’t miss any updates.
After collecting the entries, the community admins will also choose one participant that would also get to win an Axie scholarship.
Rewards are granted through $Sand and can be exchanged in other digital cryptocurrencies.
Be an official creator for The Sandbox games
I have also learned on the platform that one can also apply as an official creator on The Sandbox’s Creator Fund.
Every successful applicant is tasked to create high-quality 3D voxel-art-based assets and should receive a reward ranging from $2 to $60 in USD per unique asset constructed.
