ChatGPT has become the new talk of the town and is showing no signs of slowing down. You must have heard of it unless you've been living under a rock.

It is an AI language model which initially arrived in the market as a simple chatbot. But soon took over the whole internet because of its capabilities and intelligent responses.

This language model is so powerful that it has sparked a new sense of insecurity among people about their jobs and career.

You must have heard people say that this tool is going to replace us. But is it true? Let's find out. Sit back and relax, the text you are reading is not written using any ChatGPT.

Will AI Replace Jobs?

The first question and the most important one. I am curious to get a verified answer on this as well. Just like average lazy humans who always try to skip work, let's ask this question from ChatGPT itself.

Okay, the model is well-trained, that's for sure. The AI tool ensures that it will NOT replace you. But do focus on the second paragraph where it states "This may lead to some job displacements."

Another question arises here: If it can do my job at a much faster rate, why would I have to do all the hard work?

The same thought goes into the mind of employers, if they can get the most tedious tasks from a free solution, what's the point of investing time and resources in hiring people?

Well, this raises concerns for most of us. I am a Software Engineer currently working as a technical writer. To test if ChatGPT can do my job, I quickly promoted it to write a simple blog on AI. And Voila!, easy and fast 500 words on artificial intelligence.

But the blog was kind of general. I started asking for more quality and creativity, and at this point, it started to show results that were not quite up to the mark or I would say that require modifications and enhancements.

The same goes on for some coding tasks; as problems start getting complex, it starts to depreciate results. Even Stackoverflow, the programmers' heaven, banned ChatGPT a few months back for “Constantly Giving Wrong Answers.”

AI Isn’t Coming for Your Job (Yet)

Well, ChatGPT is an intelligent program no doubt, but it is not made for any replacement. It is definitely going to replace you if you have nothing fancy to offer and try to take the easy routes in your current job.

In my opinion, AI tools are making the market more competitive means that now you have to be more prepared for your next assignment to have a demand in the industry.

If we talk on a wider scale, it's just another AI tool that will seamlessly integrate into our lives just like Siri, Grammarly, and other robotic kinds of vacuums. ChatGPT is going to make our lives much easier by refining our current jobs.

To Conclude

In my opinion, ChatGPT is not going to replace ANYONE.

To elaborate on my point, I want you to ask yourself just for a minute what ChatGPT is. It is an AI model which is trained on an enormous dataset to learn patterns from it and generate appropriate responses.

Anything outside of that dataset and it starts to generate gibberish. I agree that the dataset is huge and it's getting improved, but not anything to worry about for at least 5-10 years.

For writers, creativity is your shield against these AI robots, and for programmers, problem-solving is the key.
