Zeebu: The Blockchain Startup Aiming to Disrupt the Telecom Carrier Industry - A Candid Discussion with Founder Raj Brahmbhatt

Ishan Pandey: Hi Raj, welcome to our "Behind the Startup" series. It's fantastic to have you here. Could you share with us your personal journey that led to the inception of Zeebu? What motivated you to delve into the telecom carrier industry with a blockchain product?

Raj Brahmbhatt: Hello Ishan, thank you for having me. My journey leading to Zeebu has been marked by a deep interest in finance, technology, and business development. I started my career in finance as a Junior Financial Analyst at Bankai Group, where I got the chance to dive deep into financial management and was exposed to the challenges of the telecom sector.

This interest was further bolstered during my time as the Project Manager at Panamax Inc., where I managed the development of innovative fintech solutions. Seeing the potential of blockchain technology and how it could intersect with the telecom industry was a lightbulb moment for me.

When I founded Zeebu, my motivation stemmed from the realization that the telecom carrier industry, with its enormous scale and complex transactions, could greatly benefit from blockchain technology. The telecom industry has been grappling with issues like high transaction costs, delayed settlements, and currency volatility, which I believed a well-designed blockchain product could solve.

The creation of Zeebu was driven by the aspiration to bring the benefits of blockchain to this industry, simplifying transactions, improving operational efficiencies, and fostering a sense of trust and transparency among the players in the industry. As an advocate of technology and investments, the development of a blockchain product for the telecom carrier industry seemed like a natural progression in my career path.

Ishan Pandey: How does Zeebu, as a blockchain product, intend to disrupt the current B2B landscape in the telecom carrier industry?

Raj Brahmbhatt: By creating a blockchain-based loyalty and utility token system, Zeebu is revolutionizing the way telecom carriers conduct business. Our solution eliminates transaction delays, addresses forex crunches in emerging markets, and mitigates the high costs of cross-border transactions, all while offering valuable loyalty rewards. This not only streamlines operations but also enhances profitability and competitiveness for our partners.

Ishan Pandey: What was the inspiration behind creating the world's first B2B loyalty & utility token specifically for the telecom carrier industry?\

Raj Brahmbhatt: The telecom carrier industry has always been at the forefront of global connectivity, yet it continues to grapple with inherent challenges such as remittance delays and low margins. Recognizing these issues, we envisioned Zeebu as a robust blockchain solution that could help improve efficiency, reduce costs, and reward loyalty, thereby transforming the telecom carrier landscape.

Ishan Pandey: How does Zeebu's best-in-class UX simplify blockchain and crypto usage for B2B interactions? Could you delve into the specific UX features that cater to this?

Raj Brahmbhatt: Zeebu's platform has been designed to be intuitive and user-friendly, minimizing the learning curve for those unfamiliar with blockchain and crypto. Features like simple navigation, clear transaction tracking, and streamlined token redemption processes ensure that our platform can be utilized to its full potential. Furthermore, our state-of-the-art security features ensure that transactions are not just seamless but also safe.

Ishan Pandey: Considering the telecom carrier industry's scale with over 6000 players, how does Zeebu plan to scale its operations and establish its presence effectively?

Raj Brahmbhatt: Our strategic approach is to form partnerships with key players in the industry, leveraging their networks and market influence to gain traction. As evidenced by our recent collaborations with BBT Voice, Broadband Telecom, BridgeVoice, and Novatel, we're making significant strides in this direction. Each of these partnerships will drive thousands of transactions annually, enabling Zeebu to solidify its position in the industry.

Ishan Pandey: How does Zeebu's blockchain solution add value to telecom carriers and what benefits can they expect to see upon integrating your product into their operations?

Raj Brahmbhatt: Beyond solving the challenges of remittance delays and high transaction costs, Zeebu's solution improves operational efficiency, reduces risk, and enhances customer loyalty. The Zeebu token system rewards both merchants and customers for successful transactions, which fosters long-term relationships and boosts profitability.

Ishan Pandey: The telecom industry is a highly regulated space. How does Zeebu navigate these regulatory waters while implementing blockchain technology?

Raj Brahmbhatt: Zeebu takes regulatory compliance very seriously. We closely follow changes in telecom and blockchain regulations and ensure that our practices are always aligned with the latest requirements. Our team of legal experts and consultants work closely with us, ensuring that our operations remain within the framework of the law.

Ishan Pandey: Could you tell us more about your recent partnerships with the four telecom carriers with over $1.2 billion yearly revenue? How does this impact Zeebu's strategic growth in the near term?

Raj Brahmbhatt: These partnerships serve as a significant stepping-stone for Zeebu, bringing in hundreds of thousands of transactions annually. They not only validate our solution but also enhance our credibility within the industry. This strategic positioning enables us to continue building our network, fostering a community of telecom carriers that benefit from our blockchain solution.

Ishan Pandey: As Zeebu is centered around loyalty and utility tokens, could you explain how these tokens work and how they contribute to building relationships between telecom carriers?

Raj Brahmbhatt: At the heart of Zeebu's platform are our loyalty utility tokens, which serve as the primary medium for transactions. These tokens can be earned by both merchants and customers upon successful transactions, reducing the cost of operations and incentivizing continued participation. This system cultivates robust relationships between carriers, as it creates a positive feedback loop that reinforces cooperation.\

Ishan Pandey: How do you see blockchain technology evolving in the telecom industry over the next five years, and what role will Zeebu play in shaping that future?

Raj Brahmbhatt: Blockchain has the potential to revolutionize many aspects of the telecom industry, from transaction processing to contract enforcement, and more. Over the next five years, we anticipate a greater acceptance and implementation of blockchain in this sector. Zeebu, with its innovative solutions, will be at the forefront of this transformation, shaping the future of the telecom industry.

Ishan Pandey: What challenges have you faced in integrating blockchain technology in the telecom industry, and how has Zeebu overcome these obstacles?

Raj Brahmbhatt: Like any disruptive technology, introducing blockchain to the telecom industry was met with skepticism, primarily due to unfamiliarity with the technology and concerns about security. Zeebu tackled this by conducting extensive market education efforts and demonstrating the potential of our solution. We also prioritized the development of a secure, robust platform that adheres to the highest standards of cybersecurity, reassuring our partners of the safety of their transactions.
