Background verification is one of the most critical aspects of the hiring process. It gives a clear view of an applicant’s present and past. 84% of employers continue to derive significant benefits from background checks. The #1 reason for conducting background checks is to avoid job fraud. The two main categories of crimes include serious crimes and minor crimes. Let your candidates know there will be a police check, run that check, and ask during the interview if you feel it necessary. Give the candidates a chance to defend themselves, you may be able to resolve the issue.
