## Who let the Dogs out? Into the Metaverse

[DOGMAI](https://dogami.com/), an NFT play-to-earn game on Tezos, is bringing dog-based avatars to the Ethereum metaverse following the partnership with the Sandbox. This is a first for The Sandbox, which previously only featured four-legged avatars as NPCs (non-playable characters), ushering in a new era in The Sandbox for all pet avatar owners.

[DOGAMI NFT collection](https://objkt.com/collection/dogami) is helping non-fungible assets take off on Tezos. The NFT collection is the largest volume, with more than 786,000 Tezos traded. The project just announced the introduction of its Dogami Generation Alpha NFTs, which are restricted to 8,000 tokens and have a floor price of almost 280 tez and a total volume of over 700,000 tez.

This initial collaboration between DOGAMI and The Sandbox demonstrates that interest in pet avatar projects is rising. DOGAMI purchased a 3x3 Estate S-LAND to create a Community Hub and the Sandbox’s first-ever pet-friendly experience.

DOGAMI NFT holders would be able to move about with their Dogami Voxel avatars, skate in the DOGAMI House skatepark, and participate in social events with other Dogamers before the end of the year. The skatepark will also provide voxel items for purchase via the DOGA House virtual skate store.

## **Into the Metaverse of Pets**: **The Petaverse?**

The Petaverse is a web3 community dedicated to all things pet-related. Virtual and augmented reality-enabled metaverses are commonly referred to be the next generation of the internet or Web3.

Pets may be purchased and adopted in the metaverse in numerous ways, all with their advantages. In the virtual open-world platform Decentraland, you may either purchase a dog and take it for a walk, or you can buy a fish and put it in a bowl on your dresser.

Purchase an NFT photo on OpenSee to obtain a pet in a virtual world like the metaverse. In the metaverse, a pet can only exist digitally for now. Some entrepreneurs have found a solution by integrating the digital and physical worlds. Using a protocol such as this, a 3D model of your pet may be scanned and tokenized before being sent to the metaverse. CryptoKitties, the first successful application of NFTs, sparked the trend of Pets-based NFTs.
