Antes de empezar a trabajar en Codeando <a href="https://hackernoon.com/tagged/mexico" target="_blank">México</a> estaba decepcionado del gobierno en todos los niveles. Mi experiencia de innovación, apertura y de hacer las cosas distintas solamente acababa siendo <a href="http://blog.okfn.org/2014/03/10/open-washing-the-difference-between-opening-your-data-and-simply-making-them-available/" target="_blank">open washing</a> mal ejecutado. Comencé a trabajar en el servicio público porque creía que podía promover un cambio desde adentro, tener el privilegio de ejecutar proyectos que pueden tener impacto para toda una ciudad me parecía el camino a tomar. Resultó que los juegos de poder y la politiquería pueden más que el deseo de hacer bien las cosas. Aquella plática en la que Juan Pablo me contó de la posibilidad de trabajar en los proyectos de Codeando sin tener que lidiar con los juegos de poder y realmente buscar resultados fue la mejor oportunidad de probar que no todo estaba perdido.
