Top 10 Favorite Google Sheets Features for Everyday Work

The Defendant’s Scheme to Make Unlawful Political Contributions In addition to the offenses of conviction, Bankman-Fried was charged with conspiring to violate the Federal Election Campaign Act and defraud the Federal Election Commission. While Bankman-Fried consented to extradition on that count, the government of The Bahamas informed the United States after the extradition that Bankman-Fried had not been extradited on the campaign finance count. (Dkt. 181). For that reason alone, the Government was unable to proceed to trial on what was Count Eight of the original Indictment. Nonetheless, the Court ruled that the Government could present evidence of the campaign finance scheme as direct evidence of the other charged crimes, including to show motive and the relationship between co-conspirators. (Dkt. 289 at 3). At trial, the Government proved Bankman-Fried’s involvement in a conspiracy to make over $100 million in political donations to federal and state officials from both parties, as well as political action committees, all funded with funds from Alameda (and ultimately customers). As the trial evidence established, the defendant passed these donations through accounts belonging to Ryan Salame and Singh (both of whom pled guilty to conspiracy to violate the campaign finance laws). (GX-1088, 1089, 1090). All of the contributions that were funded by Alameda or the defendant, but reported in the names of Salame or Singh, violated the campaign finance laws. Likewise, all of the contributions that were funded by Alameda, a corporation, and made to individual candidates violated the prohibition on corporate contributions to candidates. The defendant’s scheme spanned several years and was plainly designed to permit the defendant to amass power and influence. Beginning in or around 2020, Bankman-Fried began donating large sums of funds to political candidates, at least in part to improve his personal standing in Washington, D.C., increase FTX’s profile, and curry favor with candidates that could help pass legislation favorable to FTX or Bankman-Fried’s personal agenda, including legislation concerning regulatory oversight over FTX and its industry. To accomplish these goals, BankmanFried caused substantial contributions to be made in support of candidates of both major political parties and across the political spectrum. Bankman-Fried, however, did not want to be known as a left-leaning partisan, or to have his name publicly attached to Republican candidates. (GX-477). In order to obscure his association with certain contributions, Bankman-Fried conspired with others including Salame and Singh, to make some of the contributions in the names of Salame and Singh, instead of in the names Bankman-Fried or Alameda. (Tr. 1420-23; 1427-36). As Salame explained in a private message to a confidant, the purpose of these bipartisan donations would be “to weed out anti crypto dems for pro crypto dems and anti crypto repubs for pro crypto repubs,” and that donations would likely be routed through Salame “to weed out that republican side.” (GX505). Between in or about the fall of 2021 and the November 2022 election, Salame, BankmanFried, and Singh collectively made tens of millions of dollars in contributions, including in “hard money” contributions to federal candidates from both major political parties. (GX-28). The money used to make these political donations or to compensate for donations made by credit card originated from Alameda or FTX bank accounts and included funds that had been deposited by FTX customers. (GX-1088, 1089, 1090). Notwithstanding his awareness of the campaign finance laws, in order to conceal the true source of the funds, Bankman-Fried agreed with others that funds for contributions would be transferred from Alameda’s bank accounts to bank accounts in the name of the political donors, and then quickly transferred from those individuals’ bank accounts to political campaigns. To further conceal the scheme, Bankman-Fried and his co-conspirators recorded the outgoing wire transfers from Alameda to individuals’ bank accounts for purposes of making contributions as Alameda “loans” or “expenses.” (GX-480A; Tr. 1458-61). But unlike other loans that were made to FTX executives, most of these outgoing wire payments were not documented in agreements or on term sheets, and there were no set interest rates, no interest payments, no collateral, and no evidence of repayment. In total, Bankman-Fried and his co-conspirators made over 300 political contributions, totaling tens of millions of dollars, that were unlawful because they were made in the name of a straw donor or paid for with corporate funds. The proposed preliminary order of forfeiture lists the contributions identified by the Government. In dozens of instances, use of straw donors allowed Bankman-Fried to evade contribution limits on individual donations to candidates to whom Bankman-Fried had already donated. As a result of this fraudulent conduct, Bankman-Fried and his co-conspirators caused false information to be reported by campaigns and PACs to the FEC, which had the result of impairing and impeding the FEC’s reporting and enforcement functions. The defendant argues that the Court should not consider the defendant’s unlawful political contributions for two reasons. (Def. Mem. at 27). First, he argues that the Government did not prove this conduct by a preponderance of the evidence at trial. But at trial Singh testified that funds were transferred from Alameda to his bank account and then Salame, as part of the conspiracy with the defendant, would transfer those funds to political campaigns as if those were donations from Singh. (Tr. 1420-38). The Government also introduced documentary evidence at trial of this scheme. Government Exhibit 475, the “Donation Processing” Signal chat, provides evidence that Bankman-Fried coordinated sending Alameda funds through the accounts of Singh, Salame, and Bankman-Fried. Government Exhibit 477, a Signal chat between Singh and another person working for the defendant, also shows that certain donations would be made in Singh’s name instead of the defendant’s name. Government Exhibit 28 is a spreadsheet that was maintained by the defendant to track contributions being made in his name, Singh’s name, and Salame’s name. The Government also traced funds from Alameda through bank accounts in the names of Singh, Salame, and Bankman-Fried, on to the accounts of political campaigns. Those tracing charts were admitted into evidence as Government Exhibits 1088, 1089, and 1090. Based on all of that evidence, there is sufficient proof for the Court to conclude by a preponderance of the evidence that the defendant committed violations of the campaign finance laws. To the extent the defendant’s willfulness is at issue, it was established by the inherent aspects of concealment involved in the crime, and the fact that, as several witnesses discussed, the defendant was sophisticated when it came to politics. Additionally, while it is not necessary here, the Court is not constrained by the trial record and may consider additional evidence in connection with sentencing, or hold a hearing, at which the Government would establish that the defendant acted willfully. Second, the defendant complains that he was not permitted to call Bradley Smith as an expert witness at trial. But the testimony for which he was noticed is irrelevant for this proceeding. The defendant says that “Professor Smith would have offered expert testimony concerning ‘[c]ommon, established, and well-known practices for large-scale political giving campaigns,’ as well as testimony ‘to rebut evidence which may be offered by the Government concerning issues of campaign finance and political donations.’” (Def. Mem. at 28 (quoting Def.’s Expert Notice)). But such general testimony would not undermine the clear evidence that money was being laundered through straw donors’ accounts to make illegal contributions. For instance, they have a free lecture titled SQL for Data Analysis which teaches learners how to use SQL to manipulate data and perform data analysis tasks. Additionally, they offer other SQL-related courses that may require payment, such as or , which include more advanced SQL topics and skills. SQL Nanodegree Data Analyst Nanodegree 6. SQLZoo SQLZoo is one of the best  and  most popular websites for learning SQL online. It provides both tutorials and exercises, and that's why it is equally helpful for someone just starting with SQL and programmers who know SQL but want some good practice to master it. It contains interactive lessons and exercises designed to help you quickly learn SQL in your browser. It contains 20 lessons starting from a basic SQL query to more advanced and confusing Join queries, aggregation, filtering, and dealing with nulls. It is one of the best resources to learn SQL for complete beginners. So if you are the one who wants to learn SQL or you know SQL but don't feel comfortable, then go and try out SQLBolt's interactive SQL tutorials. As for Passepartout, he was ready for anything that might be proposed. His master’s idea charmed him; he perceived a heart, a soul, under that icy exterior. He began to love Phileas Fogg. There remained the guide: what course would he adopt? Would he not take part with the Indians? In default of his assistance, it was necessary to be assured of his neutrality. Sir Francis frankly put the question to him. “Officers,” replied the guide, “I am a Parsee, and this woman is a Parsee. The Parsee’s narrative only confirmed Mr. Fogg and his companions in their generous design. It was decided that the guide should direct the elephant towards the pagoda of Pillaji, which he accordingly approached as quickly as possible. They halted, half an hour afterwards, in a copse, some five hundred feet from the pagoda, where they were well concealed; but they could hear the groans and cries of the fakirs distinctly. They then discussed the means of getting at the victim. The guide was familiar with the pagoda of Pillaji, in which, as he declared, the young woman was imprisoned. Could they enter any of its doors while the whole party of Indians was plunged in a drunken sleep, or was it safer to attempt to make a hole in the walls? This could only be determined at the moment and the place themselves; but it was certain that the abduction must be made that night, and not when, at break of day, the victim was led to her funeral pyre. Then no human intervention could save her. As soon as night fell, about six o’clock, they decided to make a reconnaissance around the pagoda. The cries of the fakirs were just ceasing; the Indians were in the act of plunging themselves into the drunkenness caused by liquid opium mingled with hemp, and it might be possible to slip between them to the temple itself. The Parsee, leading the others, noiselessly crept through the wood, and in ten minutes they found themselves on the banks of a small stream, whence, by the light of the rosin torches, they perceived a pyre of wood, on the top of which lay the embalmed body of the rajah, which was to be burned with his wife. The pagoda, whose minarets loomed above the trees in the deepening dusk, stood a hundred steps away. “Come!” whispered the guide. He slipped more cautiously than ever through the brush, followed by his companions; the silence around was only broken by the low murmuring of the wind among the branches. Soon the Parsee stopped on the borders of the glade, which was lit up by the torches. The ground was covered by groups of the Indians, motionless in their drunken sleep; it seemed a battlefield strewn with the dead. Men, women, and children lay together. In the background, among the trees, the pagoda of Pillaji loomed distinctly. Much to the guide’s disappointment, the guards of the rajah, lighted by torches, were watching at the doors and marching to and fro with naked sabres; probably the priests, too, were watching within. The Parsee, now convinced that it was impossible to force an entrance to the temple, advanced no farther, but led his companions back again. Phileas Fogg and Sir Francis Cromarty also saw that nothing could be attempted in that direction. They stopped, and engaged in a whispered colloquy. “It is only eight now,” said the brigadier, “and these guards may also go to sleep.” “It is not impossible,” returned the Parsee. They lay down at the foot of a tree, and waited. The time seemed long; the guide ever and anon left them to take an observation on the edge of the wood, but the guards watched steadily by the glare of the torches, and a dim light crept through the windows of the pagoda. They waited till midnight; but no change took place among the guards, and it became apparent that their yielding to sleep could not be counted on. The other plan must be carried out; an opening in the walls of the pagoda must be made. It remained to ascertain whether the priests were watching by the side of their victim as assiduously as were the soldiers at the door. After a last consultation, the guide announced that he was ready for the attempt, and advanced, followed by the others. They took a roundabout way, so as to get at the pagoda on the rear. They reached the walls about half-past twelve, without having met anyone; here there was no guard, nor were there either windows or doors. The night was dark. The moon, on the wane, scarcely left the horizon, and was covered with heavy clouds; the height of the trees deepened the darkness. It was not enough to reach the walls; an opening in them must be accomplished, and to attain this purpose the party only had their pocket-knives. Happily the temple walls were built of brick and wood, which could be penetrated with little difficulty; after one brick had been taken out, the rest would yield easily. They set noiselessly to work, and the Parsee on one side and Passepartout on the other began to loosen the bricks so as to make an aperture two feet wide. They were getting on rapidly, when suddenly a cry was heard in the interior of the temple, followed almost instantly by other cries replying from the outside. Passepartout and the guide stopped. Had they been heard? Was the alarm being given? Common prudence urged them to retire, and they did so, followed by Phileas Fogg and Sir Francis. They again hid themselves in the wood, and waited till the disturbance, whatever it might be, ceased, holding themselves ready to resume their attempt without delay. But, awkwardly enough, the guards now appeared at the rear of the temple, and there installed themselves, in readiness to prevent a surprise. It would be difficult to describe the disappointment of the party, thus interrupted in their work. They could not now reach the victim; how, then, could they save her? Sir Francis shook his fists, Passepartout was beside himself, and the guide gnashed his teeth with rage. The tranquil Fogg waited, without betraying any emotion. “We have nothing to do but to go away,” whispered Sir Francis. “Nothing but to go away,” echoed the guide. “Stop,” said Fogg. “I am only due at Allahabad tomorrow before noon.” “But what can you hope to do?” asked Sir Francis. “In a few hours it will be daylight, and—” “The chance which now seems lost may present itself at the last moment.” Sir Francis would have liked to read Phileas Fogg’s eyes. 1. What do you currently do and what’s your favorite part about it? I’m the owner of LEO Digital Marketing where I help businesses be seen online to attract new customers. I truly enjoy working with the local small businesses and non-profits in my community and across the US to accomplish something they were struggling to do. When I’m not doing that I work with founders to help them create business plans, form strategies, and more. 2. How did you get started with your Tech Career? I started doing some social media work for friends and family. I took an online course to learn to do Facebook ads and decided in 2018 to take the leap. I worked with my citi’s SBDC to come up with a plan and in February 2019, I launched LEO Digital Marketing. 3. If Utopia were a color what color do you think it’d be and why? If Utopia was a color I would think it would be a bright and light shade of blue or purple. Those colors bring me peace and I feel that a Utopia would be well represented by those colors. 4. It’s a small thing, but I really enjoy being able to change the theme colors. I know it has no real effect but I like trying different combinations that fit my mood at the time. 5. The other day I was watching The X-Files and thought about how much easier life is today than it was just 25 years ago. If I have a question I can just ask my Alexa and she will give me all the info I need. This really comes in handy when I want to know if the food I’m eating will be safe for my dog Luna. 7. It’s an apocalypse of ‘walking dead’ proportions and you can only own a singular piece of technology, what would it be? Assuming that there is no more internet in the “walking dead” proportions apocalypse I would want a tool or technology that can be used in the new everyday life. I don’t know if you would consider it to be “technology” but I would want to own a Swiss Army Knife. That little tool would give me an advantage over others you would need to carry a toolbox with them. 8. What is your least favorite thing about the internet? I hate how the internet has worked to divide us on ideological lines. It seems that we are more divided, yet more connected, than ever. 9. If you were given $10 million to invest in something today what would you invest in and why? If I could split the $10 million up into multiple investments then that is what I would do. You never want to put all your eggs in one basket. If I had to take all $10 million and invest it in one thing I would invest in green energy efforts. Green energy not only has huge potential to reshape our society for the better but it’s also a growing industry that is only getting bigger. 10. What’s something you’re currently learning or excited to learn? I’m always trying to learn. There is so much knowledge out there. Currently, I am trying to learn how to code. I have a few projects that would go a lot faster and smoother if I could help on the programming end. 11. Would you rather travel 10 years into the past or 10 years into the future? Give reasons for your answer. I would choose to go 10 years into the future. I would be too afraid to mess with the past in a way that would make things worse.

Typescript has surpassed Javascript to become the world’s favorite language. A new report by CircleCI gives data for 3 years 2019, 2020 and 2022. According to the report, Javascript remained in the top position for 2019 and 2020 but was replaced by Typescript in 2022 as the world’s favorite language. Before that Typescript was in third and second spot respectively. Python remained constantly in the 4th position for all three years. HTML and PHP faced a continuous fall. Refer to the screenshot of the graph for other languages. What would be the reason for Javascript's fall Javascript for web and Java for android secured the first position in developers’ hearts as being the best programming languages. On 7 May 2019, Google announced that the Kotlin programming language is now its preferred language for Android app developers. Kotlin is expected to soon replace Java. Typescript is an open-source programming language created by Microsoft and was released on 1st October 2012 whereas Javascript is a scripting language and was released in the same year as Java in 1995. Fun Fact: Javascript creator Brendan Eich included Java in Javascript to get benefitted from Java's popularity while it actually has nothing to do with Java. The main reason of Javascript's fall was that developers couldn't find it useful for writing server-side applications as the code becomes complex and heavy. Besides this, JavaScript wasn’t even able to fulfill the requirement of an Object-Oriented Programming language. This prevented JavaScript from succeeding at the enterprise level as a server-side technology. So was created by the development team to bridge this gap. TypeScript Features of using Typescript Just like Java, Typescript checks for syntax and run-time errors before the compilation of the program. This makes sure all Typescript codes have a standard of writing. Typescript code is converted to Javascript by the browsers and is not specific to a single environment. One of the most important points is that Javascript libraries can be included in Typescript. Thus we can conclude that Typescript is nothing but Javascript with some major improvements. Besides all these advantages of Typescript of Javascript, there is only one disadvantage that Typescript required more time to compile the code. My Top 5 Favorite Bitcoin & Crypto Poems 

Like many technology professionals, my first networking certification was a Cisco Certified Network Associate ( ). I completed it in a few days, locked in a room in my house, and when I was done, I said to myself, “I know networking now!” Like most who pass the exam, I was very excited about it. CCNA But I wanted to know more, so I moved on to become a Cisco Certified Networking Professional by passing the exam. This took my understanding to a much deeper level. After passing that exam, I thought to myself, “Wow. This networking thing is big and I am starting to understand it, but there is so much more to learn.” CCNP So, over the next six months as I was working in networking, I prepared for and passed the Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert ( ) exam. After receiving the CCIE certification, I said to myself, “Oh my gosh, there is so much that I don’t know about networking.” CCIE As I moved from an associate to an expert, I came to embrace what is known as the knowledge continuum. This is the process by which we update and expand what we know with new information, acknowledging that there is always more to learn. The more we learn in our careers, especially deep careers like networking or cloud computing, the more we realize how little we actually know and how much knowledge it takes to become truly great at something. I became qualified to work on big projects that really enabled me to learn when I passed the CCIE exam. After 25 years of working in this field, I am still learning technology every single day. Embracing the knowledge continuum, which is critical for every technology professional, began for me when I passed that impossible two-day exam and was given CCIE certification #7417. And that is why the CCIE exam is, and always has been, my favorite introductory level IT and networking certification. What you gain from passing the CCIE exam I believe the CCIE certification has two other key benefits beyond opening the door to a deeper appreciation of the knowledge continuum. The first of these involves focus. I have been coaching people for approximately 20 years on how to improve their technology careers. One of things I have found is that most people do not focus on their jobs. In today’s tech world, the push is to get people to secure ten little mini AWS certifications so they can say they are “10X Certified.” The reality is that achieving those ten certifications keeps you from focusing on your particular job. It is like trying to learn ten different people’s jobs. In the end, you know nothing about nothing. The CCIE is not a paper-based exam, like those for which you can buy a practice test with the answer key and then go pass the exam. The CCIE is a deep exam. Preparing for it requires that you go over 50,000 to 75,000 pages of reading. People spend hundreds of hours in labs practicing to learn the skills. Realistically, it is the hardest certification exam in the world. In order to pass it, you must be focused. The CCIE forces students to focus all of their efforts on becoming truly great at their particular career. That alone separates those who become CCIE certified from everyone else in the tech field. Those who achieve a bunch of little introductory certifications — the topical certifications that do not really teach anything valuable — do not have the focus that is necessary to succeed. The CCIE teaches you what you need to know to actually do your job immediately upon completion of the certification. The second major benefit of the CCIE is related to employment. The CCIE certification virtually guarantees employment, especially for those who have a good attitude, good communication skills, a good energy level, and are willing to work. Cisco provides the CCIE exam at one of its locations. The exam presents students with a nearly impossible scenario, which is not revealed to the student ahead of time and which is designed to not work. This means that solving the problem requires an expert who not only knows how systems work, but who can build it with the correct design and building configuration. When you pass this exam, someone from Cisco gives you a stamp that basically says, “I, a representative of Cisco, say that this person is ready to go.” Potential employers see applicants with the CCIE certification as job ready. It is one of the few certifications in the world that provides you with the level of competency and focus that can truly get you a job. I love the CCIE certification because it not only reveals the depth of information that tech professionals need to learn, but also focuses those who it certifies on the skills that can truly help them to become experts at a job and gain employment. It marked the true beginning of my education in the tech world, but not nearly the end of it.

Inflation did not dent the iPhone maker's quarterly earnings as it reported better-than-expected sales and profit of $83.0 billion and $1.20 per share for the three months ended June 25, respectively. Despite raking in billions, the company is following the lead of its tech industry peers in slowing down hiring and cutting costs as it grapples with a "challenging operating environment." Analysts believe the company is immune to broader economic hurdles though, given iPhone's loyal and relatively affluent customer base. And investors agree. Apple's share price went up after it reported its earnings, increasing its market cap from $2.529 trillion on Thursday to $2.612 trillion at end of Friday. #2. Microsoft 🪟 Unlike Apple, Microsoft failed to beat Wall Street estimates. According to CNBC, the company's quarterly revenue experienced its slowest growth since 2020 after rising 12% year over year to land at $51.87 billion. But the slow growth barely knocked the wind out of the Richmond-based firm, which is already looking to do better in the future. The tech giant is forecasting that its annual revenues would grow by double digits, driven by demand for cloud computing services. Microsoft also accused an Austrian spy firm this past week of creating malicious software to spy on a number of unidentified banks, law firms, and strategic consultancies. The firm, called DSIRF, responded to the accusation, noting that its software — called Subzero — was "developed exclusively for official use in states of the EU. It is neither offered, sold nor made available for commercial use."  Not sure if that's better or worse. #3. Tesla 🚘 Tesla had reported its earnings earlier than others on this week's list. The automobile maker generated $16.93 billion in revenues and $1.95 per share in profit for the three months ended June 30. The biggest news at the time the results were released wasn't the financials though: it was a surprise announcement that the carmaker had liquidated 75% of its Bitcoin holdings for $936 million during the second quarter of the year. Of course, no news about Tesla is complete without a mention of its co-founder and CEO Elon Musk. The eccentric billionaire rubbished a report by The Wall Street Journal that claimed Musk had an affair with Google co-founder Sergey Brin's wife. Musk says he's still friends with Brin, though a report from Insider claims the billionaire asked his financial advisers to sell his investments in Musk's companies, so who knows 🤷‍♂️ #4. Amazon 📦 Even though Amazon didn't post a quarterly profit, its results still beat estimates. The eCommerce giant booked $121.23 billion in revenue, a cool $2 billion above expectations. It's bad enough that the virtual assistant is always listening to you (though these guys think it's not that bad of a thing), but to be able to fake someone's voice? So that second-quarter earnings report better be the best f*cking thing ever, or investors could flip. But if the company's Q1 earnings are something to go by, it's probably going to be a miss.
