Connecting ReactGrid And Chart.js

In my role as a consultant for , I am required to enter my time on a periodic basis. Our company currently utilizes the solution within for professional services billing. For years, I have found that it is easier to enter my time on a daily basis. This allows me to provide detailed comments on what was accomplished with each time entry. At the start of the month, I work with the service delivery manager and my clients to establish a personal goal. This goal is normally set in total hours for a given month. CleanSlate Technology Group FinancialForce Salesforce I like to make my goal and create a personal burndown chart, so I can quickly see how my billable hours compare to the hours expected. I quickly realized that Salesforce did not provide a default reporting solution that met my needs. Using Microsoft Excel, I was able to create a sheet which included a burndown chart: I began to wonder how quickly and easily I could automate this process of connecting Salesforce data using traditional cloud options, such as Heroku. After all, Heroku is a Salesforce company. Discovering the Components I knew that Salesforce would be my source of record. I also knew I wanted to build the burndown chart using Highcharts. Now, I needed to figure out how to connect the two items. The client-side was a quick decision since I maintain a pretty good understanding of . I quickly found the package, which is the official minimal Highcharts wrapper for Angular. Angular highchairs-angular npm Looking at Heroku's options, I found the option, which provides two-way Salesforce connectivity out-of-the-box, using as the data source available within a Heroku Dyno. This was exactly the solution I needed: It avoids the need to handle connectivity to Salesforce and does not require knowledge of Salesforce data concepts — two things that are not truly required for this effort. Heroku Connect Heroku Postgres With the source data from Salesforce now available in the Heroku PostgreSQL database, I could quickly build an API for the Angular client using the Spring Boot framework. How to add asynchronous, real-time data stream from a cross-platform .NET back-end to your React web app with much less effort. If you ever have to deal with asynchronous data streams, you probably have used or at least heard of , a library for reactive which offers powerful APIs to transform data streams into observable sequences that can be subscribed to and acted upon. But what sets it apart from the regular event-driven approach is the capability to compose new data streams out of multiple of other observable sequences, which you can combine, filter, or transform with great flexibility. ReactiveX programming I will demonstrate how you can leverage this and my own library to make an asynchronous real-time web application fairly trivial to implement. (Anything you see in angle brackets throughout this article should be replaced by an actual value. In this case, the value would be the name of a pipeline — for example, “heroku-flow-demo-pipeline”.) View Past Releases To view a history of past releases for any given pipeline, type /h releases <PIPELINE_NAME>. This command defaults to showing you past releases for the production app, so if you want to see the past releases for the staging app, you can type /h releases <PIPELINE_NAME> in <STAGE_NAME>, where <STAGE_NAME> is “staging.” Deploy to Staging Now that we know which pipelines are available, we can see information about any given pipeline along with when the code was last released for that pipeline. You’ll see the same information: The staging app has been deployed! Promote to Production Now, let’s promote our app to production. Without the Slack commands, we could navigate to our Heroku pipeline, click the “Promote to production” button, and then confirm that action in the modal dialog that appears.
