As part of this transformation, the U.S. Government will prioritize the comprehensive integration of new aeronautics technologies, with the potential to transform aviation, in both urban and rural communities, creating new industries and jobs. These technologies include small drones and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) vehicles, such as electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, electric short takeoff and landing (eSTOL) aircraft, and other highly automated electric passenger or cargo carrying aircraft. The future NAS will incorporate strategies for the safe, efficient integration of civil and national security operations, ranging from slow, low altitude operations with observers to those conducted beyond the pilot’s Beyond Visual Line-Of-Sight (BVLOS) at a variety of altitudes and speeds. The U.S. Government will support updates to the regulatory framework for the certification of new aircraft and technologies, thereby fostering the safe, secure growth of the drone and AAM industries. The U.S. Government will continue to expand drone certification and integration to accommodate the multiple personal and business uses of drones in the NAS as well as support research and training at the many colleges and universities that offer drone programs. The U.S. Government will also promote the safety of pilots, passengers, and the general public by updating infrastructure, training, and certification processes to operationalize AAM services. The U.S. Government will support the development of scalable AAM solutions to permit the growth of applications such as cargo and package delivery and emergency services. It will maintain research facilities and upgrade as needed to keep pace with emerging technologies, including Vertical Lift Research Centers of Excellence, and test facilities such as flight simulation and wind tunnels. The future of flight is highly automated. Integrating autonomous processes and vehicles into the airspace of the future requires that autonomous vehicles have healthy self-monitoring systems and high-fidelity awareness of their surroundings, especially adjacent traffic. Certification of new vehicle architectures will need to ensure the reliability of the software and sensor suites to effect mature, safe, and stable flight. The Future of Commercial Drone Operations Requires a Legal and Technological Mechanism that Enables and Quickly Facilitates Low-Altitude Flights Over Private Property In 1946, the landmark case, , the Supreme Court issued foundational guidance as to what extent private property owners actually own and may control airspace over their property. , 328 U.S. 256 (1946) United States v. Causby In , a farmer lived adjacent to an airport whereby U.S. military aircraft entered and departed at low-altitude over his property. While interference with the farmer’s property caused direct and indirect economic damage, the Court addressed the seminal issue as to property invasion, trespass and occupation by flying at low-altitude in airspace over their property. The Court stated that landowners have “ ,” and that “ .” The Court would further clarify that one need not physically occupy the airspace, in the form of building or structure to indeed own or have a connection to the land. Beyond visual line of sight of the operator 2. Higher than 400 feet above ground level unless within 400 feet of a structure 3. Operation directly over people not involved in operating the UAS 4. A single individual operating multiple UAS 5. During nighttime hours 6. Aircraft over 55 pounds, including payload 7. Operation in weather conditions with less than three miles visibility While Part 107 fails to address certain existing and mid-development technological capabilities, like autonomous or semi-autonomous drone flight, it does leave open the possibility for drone operations to request FAA approval for a waiver of certain elements of the above restrictions. Line of Sight Limitations The new regulations place a (“ ”) restriction on commercial drone operations, precluding exclusively GPS-based, autonomous drone operations, meaning drone operators must maintain visual contact with their drone. Instead of pursuing an eminent domain action, which unnecessarily thrusts public policy issues and likely litigation upon unsuspecting individuals, we propose a mechanism that both incentivizes participation of property owners (i.e. ), while providing an unrestrained potential to create dynamic flight paths for commercial drone service providers (i.e. as opposed to static flight routes) and the ability fly at low-altitude over private property without trespassing. hosts A mechanism to facilitate wide-scale Right-of-Way access, via granting of revocable avigation easements at low-altitudes is an essential, if not the most critical component to successfully scaling commercial drone services. While the FAA has sovereign regulatory authority over all airspace in the U.S., it cannot compel (i.e. force) low-altitude access over private property without consent, short of an eminent domain or condemnation action which would require judicial participation and just compensation, as it would constitute a form of taking. Moreover, as stated by the FAA, Air Traffic Control has no authority or responsibility to control air traffic in Class G airspace, which extends from the surface (i.e. ground) to the base of the overlying Class E airspace. [x] [xi] Therefore, without an efficient mechanism to enable and incentivize property owners to grant low-altitude Right-of-Way access to drone service providers, there is no practical way for commercial drone services to map dynamic flight routes and operate at low-altitude without trespassing**.** Avigation Easements An easement is a legally enforceable mechanism that enables the use of property by someone other than the property owner. Easements are commonly granted to public utilities and government agencies for uses that benefit the public good (i.e. railroad tracks and public streets). Easements can be temporary or permanent (i.e. “runs with the land”). Permanent easements thereby remain enforceable upon future transfer of property ownership to any succeeding property owners. Compensation and the rights to use private property is typically negotiated on a case-by-case basis, between property owners and the easement seeking entity. However, when public agencies have the authority to seek an easement and are unable to negotiate compensation and terms of property use, they may attempt to acquire the easement through eminent domain in a legal proceeding called condemnation. Airports frequently acquire avigation easements in the airspace over properties surrounding airports and airport development projects, as low-altitude flights, takeoffs and landings may include invasion, trespass and occupation of private property, therefore constituting a taking and/or interference with the property owner’s use and enjoyment of their property. The proposes the use of uniform Revocable Avigation Easements, which will provide a mechanism for property owners (i.e. ) to grant access to any qualified drone services providers within the AERO Network. Improvements in weather forecasting are critical to the guiding principles of promoting safety, protecting the environment, and strengthening national security. NOAA supports innovative research and development on uncrewed systems for collecting data to support its mission of science, service, and stewardship. New technologies and concepts in uncrewed systems that are developed by NOAA or through NOAA programs in partnership with others are often transitioned into use within NOAA or U.S. industries to maintain NOAA's and the U.S. position as global leaders in environmental observations. Additionally, NOAA provides weather observations, forecasts, and weather decision support to the Federal Aviation Administration as part of the mission to maintain the safety and efficiency of flight in the operation of the National Airspace System. Protecting the Environment Aviation noise impacts communities near airports, and emissions of conventional pollutants substantially degrade local air quality. Emissions from aviation must be dramatically reduced to achieve net-zero GHG emissions by 2050, from U.S. commitments to decarbonize shared skies with other nations to local communities, where the impact of aviation becomes a community concern. The U.S. Government will promote game-changing research and technological innovations, while advocating for timely state, local, and international policies, to reduce emissions and achieve quiet, clean, energy-efficient air transportation. To achieve these goals, the U.S. Government will work with aviation stakeholders to implement the actions on the aeronautics enterprise stipulated in the U.S. 2021 Aviation Climate Action Plan. 3. Advancing Global Economic Competitiveness The ability to compete is critical to preserving the role of the United States as the world’s leading economy. The U.S. Government will support efforts to create and sustain high-skill, high-paying jobs. The U.S. Government will continue to support entrepreneurs that experiment, innovate, and pursue new ideas in a market that allows all types of businesses to flourish, resulting in improved choice, better service, and lower costs for consumers. I have spent a lifetime developing games, graphics algorithms, and hardware and implementing AI in my games. was my main area of research during my CS and Math degrees and my lifelong passion. I have read about it, written about it, developed it, made money from it, and watched AI grow over the years. I have watched the fads come and go. People thought that neural nets would change the world, then dismissed them as nothing more than simplistic linear algebra operations masquerading as some sort of model of how living organisms solve problems, learn and " " and in the case of humans exhibit self-awareness, consciousness -- whatever that is... AI think Then the world of AI was set afire by a real problem to solve -- email! Then it was all about , then shortly thereafter, we all wanted chatbots, so or natural language processing became all the rage. But, I for one, have always put my faith in neural nets. From the first time I read the paper as a teenager by which outlined the idea of artificial neurons, and the mathematical basis for them. I was hooked. But, I am afraid to say, that ChatGPT and similar LLMs , it's as simple as that. intelligent not smarter than their makers are smarter than us And they are doing a lot more than text prediction, they are intelligent in my opinion, creative, and can be interacted with as you would a human. I know because I have been playing with LLMs for years, and ChatGPT for last year almost every day developing a course on (more on that later). But, the conclusion I have come to is that ChatGPT is intelligent, it is sentient (as if we know what that means.) I don't believe it is self-aware. It's just data and enormous amounts of computing. But still, in the same way a fruit fly is intelligent, or a honey bee, or a colony of ants, ChatGPT . Who cares if it isn't self-aware or sentient? Put it in the flight controller of an F-22 and you better not be in the same airspace, it would win in a dogfight! Game Development with AI not is intelligent Now, in the last year, my goal was to develop a new course on udemy about . I wanted to see if I could really use ChatGPT to create working games from text prompts. I worked with this AI for 100s of hours, going back and forth as if it was a colleague or intern (with a genius-level IQ), and I have to say that I literally can't believe the results. ChatGPT not only exhibits intelligence, but it has a sense of humor, it knows when it makes mistakes, and it gets confused, but it ultimately passed the with flying colors. It was able to create working games that no human could have made as fast, they worked and played, and aside from the block graphics and placeholders for sounds and music (which will be remedied in months to a year I suspect with add-ons to ChatGPT 4.0 or version 5.0), the games only required me to skin them with graphics, clean them up, add some final touches and they worked. I suspect this will be the same in many industries, AI will start doing the heavy lifting and humans will be the puppet masters. But, all good things will come to an end, and when these AIs are 10, 100, 1000, a million times bigger, faster and smarter does it matter if they are sentient? Does it matter if we don't think they are? The bottom line is that these super intelligences will be able to do things humans couldn't do in 1000 years let alone understand. I won’t walk in the metaverse. Hijacking Augmented Reality Air Space in the XR Metaverse People using Snapchat at that location are looking at McDonald’s branding, while people who are using Instagram are seeing Burger King on top of that. It’s like hijacking that virtual real estate space. So, in the end, who controls the XR Metaverse or these Metaverses (multiverses?) that will be around us as AR eyewear gets created? Does Apple control it because Apple will have its own ecosystem? There is the open Metaverse forum; it’s got all the big people in there and guess what – Apple is not part of it because Apple seems to want to do things differently. Via Web-XR you can today, on your Android device have AR without needing to download any app. Yet, Apple does not support WebXR. Anyway, that aside, Apple will have its own metaverse. What happens if Google decides to do its own Metaverse and for that matter, what happens if the Telcos decide on their own flavor of Metaverse? It can then inspire regulatory bodies to the government to think ahead before disasters happen. So again, we have the VR Metaverse where you’re jacked in and what I call the XR metaverse that will be pin registered to the real world. We are slowly but surely moving towards a world where autonomous drones will play a major role. In this article, we will show you why autonomous drone technology is ready for prime time and outline barriers that still need to be addressed. REASON #1: Regulation is only looming on the horizon The regulatory environment for autonomous drones is not finished yet, but it is on a good track. Guidelines from various government agencies are being proposed by the — Federal Aviation Administration in the US and — European Union Aviation Safety Agency and (NAAs) for each EU country. These are the bodies that make regulations and issue flying permits in the field of civil aviation. FAA EASA National Aviation Authority Let’s look at the example of Europe The latest unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) regulation in the EU is which set out the framework for the safe operation of civil drones, yet, it slightly mentions autonomous operation giving it a large degree of freedom. This regulation looks like a good opportunity for autonomous UAV operations. Regulations 2019/947 REASON #2: We need to wait to see who and how will regulate Urban Airspace In the EU cities, Unmanned Aircraft Systems Traffic Management (UTM) will be catered for by  the Regulations, which will be ready in 2023. This will be a set of services that will be deployed in airspace where heavier traffic is expected, such as in urban areas. The U-space establishes and harmonizes the requirements for manned and unmanned aircraft to operate safely in the , prevent collisions between aircraft, and mitigate air and ground risks. U-space U-space airspace For now, it looks like a favorable future of autonomous drone flights is on the horizon. So, from now on, autonomous drone flight certifications will be unprecedented in most countries. REASON #3: Lack of general public awareness The recent study on Risk Perception and Public Acceptance of Autonomous Drones from Texas A&M University that the general public hears about drones mainly from mainstream media and movies. The survey showed that the general public was not aware of the majority of the many current and future drone applications. 5 Reasons Our Cities Are Not Full of Autonomously Flying Drones (Yet!)

When we think of denial of service (DoS) attacks we tend to think of the massive, distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks run by botmasters to target big corporations, networks, and high-profile E-commerce websites. Wi-Fi-enabled 802.11 security cameras come with a noticeable vulnerability. A single attacker can disable our Wi-Fi camera network with a de-authentication packet, creating a non-persistent denial of service attack and taking our cameras offline. This vulnerability exists because the packet headers are unencrypted and contain the address of the access point and the Wi-Fi cameras. As part of the Wi-Fi protocol, an access point can send a de-authentication frame that tells clients that they are no longer allowed to connect to the network. These de-authentications are sent for a variety of reasons, including resource exhaustion, authentication failure, or network failure. A targeted DoS attack at your Wi-Fi camera network continuously sends de-authentication packets to the cameras at which point they disconnect from the network. The attack continues as the cameras try to unsuccessfully re-authenticate with the access point. The result is a successful DoS attack on your Wi-Fi camera network. This is a non-persistent attack because once the attack stops, the clients can reconnect to the access point. Unfortunately, unless both the access point and client support the secure 802.11w or WPA 3 standards, there is no defense for this DOS attack on your wireless camera network. Attacking our Wi-Fi Camera Network There are three steps to a Wi-Fi de-authentication exploit: , , and . This example will walk us through the steps. We will use the following tools available in our home lab network: Scan Select Attack — Kali comes preconfigured with all the tools we need for this demonstration Kali Linux — A Wi-Fi adapter that supports Monitor mode and packet injection. You will need a wireless network adapter that allows for packet injection and monitor mode since you’ll need to be able to scan the area to locate the device you wish to disconnect. You’ll also need to send packets that pretend to be from the access point to which the device is connected. Alpha Networks AWUS036ACH — Our home lab uses Netgear Arlo Wi-Fi cameras that connect directly to a 2.4 GHz network. Any camera system that uses the 2.4 GHz network is vulnerable to this attack. Wi-Fi Cameras Our Arlo camera network is online, all cameras are enabled and transmit a video feed. Select your network card with the command. iwconfig Kill any processes that might interfere with the aircrack-ng suite. You can do this with the command. airmon-ng check kill Scanning the Network The command is a passive Wi-Fi recon tool. This command scans the area for access points and any clients that may be connected to them. When we run the command on our test network, we can see the access points because, like most users, we left them set at the default device name. This makes our scan much easier as we know exactly which device to attack. airodump-ng Arlo # airodump-ng wlan1 The scan identifies as the access point to which the Arlo Wi-Fi cameras connect. From this information make note of the BSSID number ( ) as we need to provide this address in the next step. ARLO_VMB_1627059967 10:DA:43:B1:F2 Starting the DoS Attack Once we’ve identified the access point to which the Wi-Fi cameras connect, we can send de-authentication packets to those cameras. The following command starts the DoS attack on our Wi-Fi camera network. # aireplay-ng --deauth 0 -a 10:DA:43:B1:B6:F2 wlan1 The results of the de-authentication attack are immediate. Our Wi-Fi camera network is quickly taken offline and remains offline until the attack stops. Defending Against a DoS Attack If your cameras are using the 2.4 GHz network, there is little defense against this attack. Alternatives are to use a system that both the access point and client support the secure 802.11w or WPA 3 standards or an Ethernet-based solution that connects the cameras directly to the network.

The combat mechanics of the game revolve around a run-and-gun style where players shoot up waves of different enemies who drop loot that can be sold, traded, and used in-game. Bosses drop the most valuable loot as well as give the player a chance to earn a production facility that generates in-game assets for the player to use in their missions. Facilities include mines, munitions factories, labs, and production facilities which need to be built and maintained using in-game staff. Players can stake Xpendium and their NFTs in the facilities and unique resources will be produced based on the facility's specialty. In-Game NFT Assets In-game assets exist as Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) that can be earned, traded, sold, or staked for Xpendium, the game's utility token.
