Ethical hacking is the act of penetrating a computer system or network with the permission of the owner in order to test its security. Ethical hackers are also known as white hat hackers or security researchers. There is some debate over whether ethical hacking is truly legitimate. Some people argue that it is simply a form of hacking, and therefore it is not ethical. Others argue that the hacker has permission from the owner to carry out the attack. There are arguments for both sides of the debate, and it is up to the individual to decide what they believe.
