Amir Elkabir was a project manager leading business and delivery activities for a major multinational bank in London in 2012. He had a most important semi-sales meeting with the client, a meeting he had prepared and worked for many weeks earlier. He was embarrassed when he pointed at him in a V-shaped ‘Two-Fingered Salute’, meaning ‘You haven’t cut off my fingers!” The British raise their two fingers in the V-shape ‘two-fingers’ sign till today to express the same feeling towards a bugging counterpart.
