Too Long; Didn't Read

Developers often think of their job as “writing code” or “closing tasks in Jira”. This approach limits growth and, more importantly, **happiness**. Developers, who own the product, are more valuable for businesses - due to their proactivity, higher effectiveness and creativity, and better decisions. Companies give such developers more freedom, money, and possibilities. People with a sense of ownership are happier - they break the alienation process and fill themselves more competent and free; they are surrounded by enthusiastic and skilled people. There are people to whom internal domination is paramount and those who tend towards external motivation. Such people are called “Type I” and “Type X” by Daniel Pink. According to findings, such people perform equally well, but the latter die sooner due to heart diseases. Product ownership helps you to switch your behavior to internal motivation.
