There are just too many apps and not enough time…

“I think it’s fair to say that personal computers have become the most empowering tool we’ve ever created. They’re tools of communication, they’re tools of creativity, and they can be shaped by their user.”

- Bill Gates

Bill Gates got it right, but the world has changed a bit since he said that in 2006. The personal computers he was referring to have now transformed into cell phones.

Our cell phone rally around communication and creativity, making them amazingly empowering tools. The technology around them continues to advance at a rapid rate.

These advancements have globally connected the world but overwhelmed us at the same time. Though we can connect with everyone, we are beginning to drown in options of how to connect with them.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place. - George Bernard Shaw

It seems bizarre we are overwhelmed by options to connect with people when less than 100 years ago people were forced to write, send telegrams (what the..), call someone (very limited), or go and see them.

Now we have social media, email, messengers, video calls, and more. Not to mention in each of those categories, there are hundreds to thousands of options to choose from.

The major advances in the speed of communication and ability to interact took place more than a century ago. The shift from sailing ships to telegraph was far more radical than that from telephone to email! - Noam Chomsky

The struggle is real, and the epidemic is growing in volume. The only way to solve the problems we face is to create a tool that will unify all the communication platforms we are overwhelmed with.

Technology is a compulsive and addictive way to live. Verbal communication cannot be lost because of a lack of skill. The ability to listen and learn is key to mastering the art of communication. If you don’t use your verbal skills and networking, it will disappear rapidly. Use technology wisely. - Rick Pitino

How Unification Will Save The World

I use 20+ communication apps throughout the day, every single day. The jumping around all of them leaves me frustrated and gives me the feeling of drowning in words.

If only we had a centralized location for all of our communication, we could begin to appreciating the beauty of conversation again. We could go back to the days of loving to communicate instead of dreading it.

The Internet is the most important single development in the history of human communication since the invention of call waiting. - Dave Barry

A place where all of you digital communication flowed through one place would be monumental for humanity. With people trying to simplify their life, communication isa big part of it.

The minimalistic lifestyle is an appealing one because we have been beaten down by information.

Email, instant messaging, and cell phones give us fabulous communication ability, but because we live and work in our own little worlds, that communication is totally disorganized. - Marilyn vos Savant

Time To Simplify

To help simplify communication, I have decided to develop a unified messaging app.

The app I am developing will combine all forms of communication into one simple application. This will help people digest and send messages/emails from one central location.

I am currently in the early stages of development for my unified messaging platform, which I have named UNUM messenger.

I plan to launch UNUM messenger in March of 2017 as a Beta. If you would like to be notified when UNUM messenger launches, you can sign up here.

Any and all feedback is appreciated!
