The likelihood of you breaking production is rarely a case of if. More often than not, bringing down production is closer to a matter of when. Don't assume that you can handle this on your own. Contact DevOps. It's always better to ensure that the people who need to know about a worst-case scenario are alerted if there's even a remote chance it could be in effect. The most important thing to remember is that this happens to nearly every engineer. No one is immune to taking down production.
