As AI reshapes the workforce, the question of how people should be compensated for their contributions to these models arises. The concept of ‘data dignity’ - paying individuals for their data that feeds into AI - is gaining traction as an alternative to a UBI. Computer Scientist Jaron Lainer has reiterated the idea even though user data morphs into something ‘unrecognizable’ after being ingested by large language models.
