Some cities or localities have also enacted pay transparency laws, even if they’ve not been rolled out on a state level. Here’s the most up-to-date overview of which states have done so and some facts behind the initiatives. Some states have already mandated wage equality and the prohibition of retaliation for wage discussions, thanks to the Equal Pay Act and the Fair Pay Act in 2015.
