Too Long; Didn't Read

Google announced HTTPS as a ranking signal on August 6, 2014, to implement an advanced secure connection for users. HTTPS means if you use 2048-bit SSL encryption on your website, Google will give you an extra boost in search engine rankings. Google announced that it will increase its influence on rankings after sites have had enough time to switch their sites to HTTPS. Only less than 1% of all websites are secure, but those companies that are using SSL certificates are seeing great results. It is great for companies looking to increase conversion rates, boost user-engagement, and improve brand reputation.
