Meta has exploited young users of its Social Media Platforms, including by: (1) creating a business model focused on maximizing young users’ time on its Platforms; (2) employing harmful and psychologically manipulative Platform features while misleading the public about the safety of those features; (3) publishing misleading reports purporting to show low rates of user harms; and (4) in spite of the overwhelming evidence linking its Social Media Platforms to young user harms, refusing to address those harms while continuing to conceal and downplay its Platforms’ adverse effects.
