Have you given this trailer a watch? What do you think about it? What do you expect from a LOTR TV show?

Jack Boreham, I saw this yesterday!!! I have mixed feelings. For one thing, the world shown seems really similar to the one portrayed in the movies, which is good. But then, I have this feeling that this might be slightly more "childish"... I hope to be wrong and that this turns out great... we'll see.

Jack Boreham Just saw it thanks to the thread, haha. I'm not a huge fan of LOTR, but I loved the visual. The first glimpse of the LOTR world in the trailer was amazing. I don't know what to expect since I'm not paying much attention. What are they focusing on in the tv show?

Mónica Freitas, I totally agree, but what I think it is, it looks like a whole load of CGI. the original LOTR didn't use a lot; that's why it felt authentic. I think it looks far too clean to be a LOTR series; It needs more grit.

Sara Pinto, it looked great, right! So it's based hundreds of year's before LOTR when the rings were forged. It follows a group much like the fellowship during this period.

Jack Boreham Oh, that sounds pretty cool! I think this prequel it's a good way of furthering the fictional universes. They have a lot of responsibility tho. We have already received a great cinematic experience with the movies, and I think the expectations for this will be high.

Jack Boreham Overall, I would like to know if Gollum is around in the TV show 😂
Mónica FreitasFeb 16, 2022, 10:53 AM
Jack Boreham, I noticed that too. Even in this shot, I felt that there was too much CGI:

Jack Boreham Besides, does the LOTR need a series? The movies already covered a lot. Could they be overdoing it?

Sara Pinto big gollum fan? 😂
Jack BorehamFeb 17, 2022, 2:09 PM
Mónica Freitas, I don't think so, as there's always room for more fleshing out of the stories. But yeah, it's far too CGI.
Sara PintoFeb 18, 2022, 10:07 AM
Jack Boreham, Aren't we all? Hahaha. My brother and I used to play by impersonating him, so he has a special place in my heart 😂
Mónica FreitasFeb 18, 2022, 10:46 AM
Jack Boreham, when is the premiere? I guess we're close to figuring out if it's any good.
