TLDR Google recently announced that it will be phasing out the use of 3rd party cookies by 2022 for tracking users from its Chrome browser. Google has also said that they will not use alternative identifiers to track individuals as they browse across the web. This might lead to websites using aggressive tracking like browser fingerprinting, which is more a way to collect information allowing websites to identify information.
