The Dawn of a New Era for Cosmos
Superlative quality and visually stunning, Cosmos Signal marks the beginning of a new era for our community. Since we delivered on our vision of blockchain interoperability by launching IBC, Cosmos, as the second-largest ecosystem in the crypto space after Ethereum, has gone from strength to strength. We now secure more than $120 billion of digital assets with over 250 blockchain apps and services in the network.
We’re rolling out more industry-leading products that push the boundaries of what’s possible with our interoperable technology. Emeris, currently in beta, will launch publicly in December 2021 with a browser extension wallet that will make cross-chain DeFi even more powerful and set the ecosystem alight as a portal to all crypto apps — in Cosmos and beyond.
Together with Starport, the all-in-one platform to build, launch, and maintain any crypto application on a sovereign and secured blockchain, our technology empowers developers to build their own blockchains, connect to our burgeoning ecosystem, list their tokens on any of Cosmos’s decentralized exchanges, and get immediate discovery.
Then, of course, we’re super excited to bring blockchain gaming to Cosmos and look forward to becoming the number one ecosystem for game developers and players by partnering with blockchain gaming platform Forte. We’ve got more details on this partnership on the blog so be sure to check it out.
On top of that, some of the industry’s leading ecosystems including Terra (LUNA) and Injective (INJ) are joining the IBC gang! The Injective governance proposal to enable IBC passed on October 5, while Terra’s community is expected to unanimously support upgrading to IBC later this week once the voting period ends. Between these two thriving blockchain ecosystems, more than $20 billion of digital assets will be made available to the whole Cosmos ecosystem, as well as Terra’s popular stablecoin (UST) and Injective’s innovative savings products. These additions to the #IBCGang enable access to even greater cross-chain DeFi markets.
And that’s not all. Interchain Security is coming as soon as Q1, 2022, as the next upgrade to the Cosmos Hub. This is the hotly-anticipated Cosmos solution to shared security and integrates IBC with Proof-of-Stake to bootstrap the economic security of new chains while allowing Cosmos Hub stakers to earn rewards on multiple chains. Interchain Security increases the utility of the Cosmos Hub, which is good news for ATOM holders, validators, and all innovative projects entering the Cosmos network.
Last but definitely not least, we’re introducing you to our brand-new chain Sagan that’s already in development for Cosmos. Sagan will allow us to experiment with new initiatives with greater speed and efficiency, adding tremendous value to the entire network. Stay tuned for more info about Sagan soon.
