The voyages that these enterprising souls embarked on inspired generations. Charismatic leaders and their talented crews grappled with questions of morality, pondered the future of technology and most importantly confronted the challenges that they faced. The lessons learned and imaginations inspired by that legend have been felt throughout the internet. The last year has been difficult. Tragedies we once considered inconceivable have happened while problems we have been grappling with have not stopped complicating our lives. Our theme, , was chosen to recognize two things. StarTech First, the immensely challenging environment that we’ve all come to live in. Just as those crews dealt with the challenges of deep space so too have we had to deal with the aftermath of a pandemic, climate change and much more. Second, we intend to remember that the internet is a vibrant and exciting part of our lives. Though it doesn’t hold new life in undiscovered planets, it brings ideas, talent and escapism in equal and abundant measure. We hope that you will join us in embracing the spirit of the event. This Year’s Catagories Are: We have grouped our awards into five categories that each encompass exciting and expanding sectors of the internet. Emerging Tech In prehistoric times, fire and wheel were emerging tech. Today, the standards might be a little higher, the impact a little distributed, but the potential to disrupt reality as we know it is still boundless.
