Just What Is The Merge?

It’s hard to talk about much in the crypto space in the last two weeks before stumbling onto The Merge. Plenty of writers have weighed in on it and we’ve learned a lot about it through them. If you’ve been struggling to keep up with what it is and what it might mean because the coverage has been so fragmented, I hope that this latest video will help you with it.

The most simple explanation for what the Merge is, that it’s just changing the way Ethereum works doesn’t quite encompass the far-reaching consequences the change might bring. By significantly cutting energy requirements, some of the biggest things holding blockchain back were removed.

The Merge’s effects have had some time to be felt since last week. Computer components needed to mine Ethereum aren’t in as much demand anymore while the SEC chairman has even suggested that it could be considered a security, dropping the price.

So, what else has changed, and what’s going to happen next with Ethereum? The Merge was just the start of a series of changes meant to make it more accessible and more likely to change the way the world works.
