Hey Hackers! I’m Altynbek and I’m the Mobile Engineer at Evernote and Co-founder of Alto’s POS.

First of all, a huge thank you to the HackerNoon community and staff for nominating me for a 2021 Noonies award! I’ve been nominated in the following category please do check out this award page and vote:

  1. HackerNoon Contributor of the Year - swift: https://noonies.tech/award/2021-hackernoon-contributor-of-the-year-swift

I believe that the most exciting technology of the present is implantable brain-machine interface, also called brain computer interface (BCI) because it can help many people with disabilities. Learn more about my thoughts and opinions on BCI and my journey in the tech industry via the interview below.

1. What do you do and why do you do it? (tell us your story)

I developed many mobile apps for diverse sectors because every sector has its own specific issues and I like when my solution makes an impact and makes happy many people.

I share my knowledge when possible, write tech posts, and teach new software engineers at a university.

2. Tell us more about the things you create/ write/manage/ build!

I built a solution for restaurants and retail that every owner can manage their business easily even if they have no tech knowledge.

3. How did you end up on your current career path? Do you like it?

At university, I liked making simple games and soon I realized that I had chosen the wrong major. I changed my major and since then I do software development. I really love what I do and am happy with it.

4. What tech are you most excited or passionate about right now and why?

I'm passionate about implantable brain-machine interfaces. I think this technology can help many people with disabilities. Directly communicating with machines can extend our possibilities but our world will totally change when it happens.

5. What tech are you most worried about right now and why?

I'm a little bit worried about AI. It is progressing too fast, and at some point, we can lose control :)

6. If we gave you 10 million dollars to invest in something today, what would you invest in and why?

There are many things that I would like to invest in:

  • Education system - we need more specialists
  • Alto's POS - because it is a good product
  • New startups

7. What are you currently learning?

I'm rereading the book "Clean Code".

8. What’s the best advice you’ve ever given someone?

Everything is achievable.

9. What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

There is no growth in the comfort zone.
